  • I can see that he takes a lot of influence from Billy Sheehan. I mean, the playing style is very similar and there are like 5 of the signature basses in the back... lol. Nice.

  • I was hoping to learn something here. I only learned how much i SUCK!! :s

  • @DaBBie4 touche man... touche....

  • @DaBBie4 don't worry, you're not the only one who think that

  • are you famous yet?

  • Fuck!!! best bass man ever!!!!

  • sounds like billy sheehan

  • Have you got the Geddy Lee and Billy Sheehan signature basses in the back?

  • YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA "ba-vast"

  • i wonder whether this is to encourage or dishearten, awe struck.

  • class playing,

defo a billy sheehan fan he's using a lot of his techniques,

and there's two attitude basses in the background,

    who can blame him though?

i wish i could play like that!!

  • now this is a real billy sheehan fan.

  • danny growl is the man! what kind of bass is that?

  • awesome harmonics,

  • Your Discusting! Great Techniques.

  • thats scary amazing! I need to move on to this stuf now

    your crazy man

    keep it up

  • I count at least six basses, I'd love to hang out at this dude's house and jam.

  • same solo billy sheehan played live

  • nice stu hamm quote right around 2:49!!!

  • nice moves man

  • WOW.

  • he plays it like a frickin lead guitar

    awesome tho

  • Great job Sheehan!

  • good job billy...oh wait...

  • i like how you incorporated the song sunburn into that!

  • very cool, its just like hes playing a regular guitar

  • how do u get the harmonic with ur fingers.. i can do it with a pick but thats about all

  • You "pinch" the string with your thumb and pointer while holding a note, its really hard to learn at first but it gets alot easier

  • on certain frets there are natural harmonics 12, 5, and 3 are the easiest to find, just place your fingers on the strings right above the fret [ metal line ] and strum down it, its a natural harmonic, don't press down, just place your fingers on the strings :]

  • ahaha. bud, you need to kiss ur stupid picks goodbye. You'll get no where (in terms of skill) if you stick with the pick. If anything, they slow you down, play with your fingers!! And to answer your keshtonne, just pluck normally, but you don't pluck, but start plucking/slapping/popping/thumping/tapping! You'll get alot more outta your bass! TRUST ME MY FRIEND!

    BASSISTS FINGER BETTER!

  • i take it im not the only one who thinks a bass player using a pick is like a football player wearing a tutu

  • but hes not using a pick.....

  • i dont think he used a pick in this video, it's all fingers just like Billy Sheehan

  • both techniques have their place, a pick gives a slightly more aggressive tone but fingers is a much more beneficial technique to learn

  • this guy rulles

  • !!! How do you flash without a pick??

  • look the rigt hand...OMG xD

and dude do you have a guitar shop or something¿ :P

  • you areamazing!!!5 star

  • Danny is really talented, but I'd like to see him play something of his own instead of recycling Billy Sheehan's techniques.

  • I do agree with you

  • could somebody fill me in on how to play artificial harmonics please

  • Lay a small portion of the knife edge of your thumb on the string, and pluck with your index finger. It'll take some time to find the "sweet spots" (areas that can be used to produce harmonics).

  • woooooo... thats good...

  • dat was awesome!!!!!! man i wnt to play like dat, im going to practice like shit until i can :D

  • nice style man

  • dammit your good o.O

  • thats some pretty sweet stuff

u can tell its spanish and its awsome

  • How do you make the strings make that schreechy noise?

  • This guy is nice.

  • I need to admit, at first I didn't like it (too SHeehan) but after about 30 seconds I started to dig it a lot. Good job man.

  • Yeh, 311 bass is right. But jaco does not use them on portrait of tracy.

  • No, the sound he gets at 40 isn't a pinch harmonic, its an artificial harmonic. Jaco invented those in Portrait of Tracy. He's using his thumb on his left hand to make that noise while picking the harmonic.

  • Hahahaha, Jaco didn't invent artificial harmonics. He may have made use of them extensively, but I can bet you there were people out there using him before he wrote PoT.

  • Slap isn't Metal

  • amazing!, but what about the slap??

  • I think there is two other Yamaha Attitudes on the left side rack (check the headstock and the color).

  • c'est enooooooooooooooorme!

  • hes doing pinches the same as on a guitar. pluck it with one finger and tap it with another on the way through real quick. its kinda hard without distortion though.

  • Artificial harmonics... You play the note and then make a harmonic on that string a split second afterwards...

  • can someone explain how the sounds he gets out of his bass at 00:40 are played, i tried it many times, but I just can't figure it out.

  • i tried to pluck the string with the nails of my ring finger then "pinched" it with my point finger...i tried it and it went well for me...

  • Artificial harmonic via your right thumb. You'll have to play around with it to find out where the right spot is.

  • Sounds like a pinch harmonic but i'll be damned if I can do it either

  • how many fingers was that?

  • Wow you can really play...great...

  • I'm not a bassist but I love this guy. I would love to hear this with some bass distortion a la Paul Jr.(Sepultura). That tapping stuff is awesome. Why on earth can't more bassists play like this instead of just dom-dum-dom-dum in the background?

  • Wow!! Inspired!

  • i jus noticed even a p with a sidewinder and a tele neck! greta playing though

  • haha dude great playing u worship sheehan somewhat don't you?

  • billy sheehan fan at all?

  • Awsome, I love the attitudes in the back

  • i like your pinch harmonics up the neck that was cool

  • he is slow....lol jk

  • Awesome. nice work. once again you show the world that us bassists can actually play our own instruments and you can do awesome stuff with it. nice custom presicion too.

  • Awesome man, that was totally killer....how do you get the pinch harmonics? They sound similar to Jaco's except way more intense.

  • this man is good

  • nice work dude

  • yeah ver billy sheehan.very cool.kinda cliff burtin aswell in points.nice!

  • thats quite something, v.nice, billy sheehan all over, im not his biggest fan but i love it, keep up the good work

  • good

  • i love this man...

  • dude that pretty sweet skills on your bass! I love the part at 2.44min.

    keep on!

  • looks like there are 2 attitudes on the rack

are you playing a custom P bass modded with a neck humbucker and a tele neck?

  • bass solo take 1

  • very well exacuted

  • hey man where did you get those basses?? are those Yamaha Attitude?? how much did they cost??

  • billy sheehan ;)
