They said a future version of TriplePlay will have a floor unit with foot switches, and direct 5pin MIDI Output jack to directly drive external hardware synths.
still does not provide to acces a synth hardware on stage but its at least usb and suitable with all vsti...but it should definitely be capable of direct accesing
Can you please comment on FINGER PICKING. Is it as responsive? Easy to adjust sensitivity? Tapping(hammers ons and offs etc) while picking works well?
I still do not understand why electronic giants were making suitcases with 13 pin cables for 700 dollars that are sloppy when it can be that small fast and nice. And why for 100s midi keyboards produced there are 2-3 midi guitar systems though guitar is more popular and widespread instrument.
@junkscar yes you need to grow up to try the infected mushroom. However the suitcase with 13 wires cables is a poisonous cactus induced idea. I would like to look in the eyes of a man who invenetd this.
They told me under $300 list. I wonder if any USB pedal controller could be programmed for use with it. That way we could use our existing controllers for hold, sustain, and pedal modulation sweep. I hope the software they showed with the Triple Play can be used as a vst inside Cubase so that there are no computer conflicts. Also, how about a floor version that works with guitars that are already hex pickup equipped??
This is insane!!! Finally, the MIDI guitar system that we've been waiting for all these years. It really works, it's small, affordable and actually looks cool on your guitar. What I really notice here, for the first time is this technology keeps the feel of what you are playing on YOUR instrument. No more sloppy off rhythm on piano parts. Thanks Elantric for posting this. Fantastic playing as usual, Burr. Can't wait!
Very impressive in HD720 - I get a feel for the size of the system as it sits on the guitar and it does seem smaller than the Roland GK series. His chops are amazing but the system doesn't miss a note from what I can see nor did it mistrigger. The looping feature looks like it could really be great for putting together demos or writing songs. I think his take of the Stevie Wonder tune shows some of the amazing potential - if that was all live except drums I'm sold!
GREAT demo of a NAMM product (for once). If only they took a line out or miced the speakers through.
Very cool device.

". Also, how about a floor version that works with guitars that are already hex pickup equipped??"
I asked - they said NO - 13 pin compatibility is NOT in their plans for this product type.

@elantric quick question : did you try one at NAMM ? if so, how's this compare to GR-55 ?
because from the video it looks like it's even faster, more responsive and far more stable / glitch free than GR-55, CMIIW
i hope finally our waiting all these years is finally over, now we have a guitar synth / guitar to MIDI that really acts and feels just like a guitar.

@ultramanrichie
Burr used a Logidy UMI3 USB foot switch to control the Fishman TriplePlay

Nicely done demo.
@aliensporebomb: I think there's a mistrigger at 7:13 (or else the player flubbed that chord stab).
I'm excited by the choice of material. Tracking that clav sound on the low strings really shows off some great, speedy MIDI tracking.
