I am writing a trilogy and while I had considered this song for a muse and title of the second installment, I just decided rather that it fits the last chapter of the second installment best. Triumph over all that has happened in the past....death of the old you, but the birth of the new one, in a new place - a better place than before. Thank you for posting, as this is constant background music while I write.

Always loved this song, ever since sleep-away camp in the 70's. Beautiful melody, harmonies. Especially poignant since the passing of Mary Travers, lovely lady with a lovely voice. Thank you for posting.
You cannot imagine the Incredibly emotional scenes this song brought in front of a small, lonely child's eyes -mine- when listening to this song when played on the greek radio. Athens Greece, late sixties...
These people were a match made in heaven, and to me, at least, this song proves their "longevity" of talent, in that it was many albums down from thier first album, and to me they "still got it", still singing their asses off. Marc.
Maybe not a song they're most known for but this actually is one of my favourite songs of PP & Mary.
Mary, may you rest in peace. Sadness upon me now as I know this group will be no more as we knew them without Mary, but glad that I have so many of the wonderful, wonderful albums to listen to.
The most beautiful folk trio ever........
Mary, amongst the angels now and singing for all time......
Wish I had some PP & M on my MP3 player! Alas, I do not have any CD's with which to put on the player. I went to the voice recording mode and put a couple of their stuff on it, but limited recording space. :(
it is getting a bit TOO sad for me right now - haven't heard these songs since my old turntable was thrown out (stupidly) - i still have all the albums - i need to get a new turntable
It has been dark for too long.....Hurry down, sundown.

just incredible unique harmonies, that's why no one else can come close. Also wonderful being young....and full of hope for all that is yet to come.

Someone gave me an album called "Hurry Sundown" for a [resent in the 1960's. I had never heard the sonf before, but it is hauntingly beautiful.
So Peter, Paul and Mary!

This song has a Czech translation as well...very poetic one...about dreams coming true. But this original version makes me cry. Beautiful.

I am a grown man and sometimes their music makes me cry too! Most beautiful singing. I love these people. God be with Mary.

bless grown men that can sometimes cry. pp&m has that same effect on me. Missed not having the Christmas concert this year.

I appreciate your comments.
It is sad to know that PPM is no more without her. I am still almost in denial that she is gone. I grew up listening to them.
