How to write lyrics

Uggggggghh writing can be a pain in the ass! I'm trying to write a new song for my band ( not famous YET so not sayin the name but I can't come up with any lyrics!!!

I actually wrote a song about killing people. But for that song I pretended that the teenage version of myself was inhabited by one of the 2 kids from columbines soul. and when you hear the lyrics with that in mind the song makes perfect sense.the 2 boys could have said some of the same things before they got to the point of actually doing the killing.the point of the song is to teach people not to mentally torture people, not only is it wrong but we dont know what they are thinking.listen to it

i'm in crisis at the moment. everything i write is epic power metal. i've tried everything to stop it. i dont write fantasy, at all!!! and my lyrics often having negative themes such as internal issues and nuclear war. yet no matter what i write my band can still compare it to kamelot or gamma ray. and their getting pretty sick of my lyrics because we play prog-metal. but nothing i can do and nothing i write seems to be hugely different or take a new approach. no matter how much i try to change.

i'm trying in vain to write really good speed/power metal lyrics but i also enjoy dark emotion in my writing. but i'm drained of ideas and any lyrics is write seem to be more cheesy than stratovarius.

i'm sick of always coming up with corny lyrics and stuff i need inspirations to come up with something dark and gloomy.

My advice on breakdowns is do a solo instead. If you have to do a breakdown don't do one in every song cos they get old fast.
