HEY GUYS... I've got two MINT condition 1998 Parker Fly guitars for sale (deluxe, and classic). if you're interested message me and I'll give you details and links to the photobucket albums.
i gotaa admit when i first saw the outfit and the backing track started with the whooshing and everything i thought lol, but aanyway turns out it really sounded very cool and the guy CAN PLAY for sure. had a trance like phrygian-lydian funky blues thing goin on..ROCK-ON DUDE!! AWSOME and kudos for playing your guitar before goin out, i always do that myself..just before i leave and as soon as i get home :) loved it!!
I don't care how you guys think this guitar looks, it could just be the electronics, bridge, and neck welded together for all I care, this thing just sounds awesome!
@dayone54. Yeah, with piezo the Marshall cannot reproduce the high frequency timbre. The amp itself is bandwidth limited and then the speakers are too, so if you want an acoustic sound, you will need to use a full range system like a PA system or a home stereo or an acoustic guitar amplifier.
@youtubauser i set up my Dad's Parker Fly with the 11 Guage Spring- and strings- i adjusted the gain on the piezo to 9.5 almost all the way- played it through a tiny little Peavey Decade (one 8" speaker amp) and the Piezo tone was about as sweet as it gets~ lemme tell ya- that's the secret to the piezo- you have to raise the gain- for the shimmering bell tone full potential - and play through clean channel 1st- then get back with me- and tell me you weren't just in Tonal Heaven~! i know i was!
i have one in white (nitefly) do i really need to buy acoustic amp to play it acoustically or can i use my marshall for acoustic piezo when i want to play it acoustically?
@minusbilis No it's not built into the bridge pickup, the piezo is built into the bridge itself, each of the string saddles is a piezo pickup, there are 6 of them and they get mixed together in the on-board mixer. you could easily replace the magnetic pickups.
hey awsome guitar playing and sound !! love these plus they look so cool... anyway i was gona ask im lookin to hopefull get a parker as my next guitar and was just wonderin if u could just gimme some advice?
i like alot of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai but my favourite bands are Muse and Oasis do you think Parker suits these styles of rock? only thing is that parkers are abit pricey but i think it should be worth it... alright thanks !
i want one of these so bad but they are like 2000-3000 dollars :( i just like the shape everything else could be plywood if you know what i mean but the spec for these are very nice
i think i heard a child at the end saying "dad we gotta go" ahah if my dad even played guitar id totally forget about everything and just watch endlessly hahah :)
Were you high when you wrote that comment or simply thrown at a brick wall when you were a baby? Sorry, but honestly it is one of the ugliest guitars on the market. It really is a sick guitar though and if they made them in a Les Paul style sunburst I would be seriously considering a purchase.
@Carthsgtr I was neither of those. I just have the brains and the enlightenment to distinguish between good and bad, which is more than I can say for you, friend.
Mate, there is no need to be so mean ( :( ). I was merely stating the fact that this is an ugly guitar (which it is) I honestly don't know how you can see how it looks good.
You can keep this all you want, but ill stick with a beautiful cherry sunburst on a Les Paul. Like I said before though, this isn't a bad guitar.
@Carthsgtr an eye for an eye, man. Back on the subject of the Fly; to each his own, I guess. Personally I don't care for Les Pauls, but that's just me.
@Carthsgtr You have got to be kidding?? Have you ever seen one in the flesh (so to speak), they are the most beautifully made and finished guitars ever! Sexy curves, interesting carvings, and a neck joint better than anything else! It makes a Les Paul look and feel like a dinosaur!!
We are all entitled to our opinion. In this case you may have taken that liberty one step to far, but ultimately I think we shall have to agree to disagree.
Man!...my head just exploded! Wicked sounding. What did you use to record this amp/effects? I was recently at a music store an tried a Parker fly. I was smitten from the get go. I was thinking of buying one of the PM models because I can't afford a straight fly right now. Have you played one of them and what is your opinion on the PM models? Thanks
Line6 amp as picked up through by the camcorder microphone.
I would rather have a entry level PRS than a Parker PM. Many of the awesome design features of the fly deluxe are conspicuously missing fro the PM model.
I love it!!! You rip. I so identify with this, right up to my daughter coming in and saying enough noodling already, we gotta go! I have a Fly and a job and a family and I so appreciate the moments of brilliance that dudes like us squeeze into the daily grind . Rock on!!! that is unless its your turn to do the dishes, then Wash on!!! so you can get back to rockin. Seriosly, some great playing!
Man this video is awesome. First of all i really like your playing styles and techniques. You are very talented and technical and you play that guitar so cool. I also like your brown sweatervest and your shirt!
The end of this clip is also fun, is it your wife/girlfriend that tell you to stop or what?
I've had Parkers since the mid 90's and I have no intention of going back to that old crap I used to play. Nothing I've ever played plays like a Parker or stays in tune better or has a better sounding acoustic or is easier to change strings on, and strings last at least twice as long for some reason. I guess because it has no exposed wood in the neck that absorbs moisture(?) You can hear the demos my old band made (A Journey tribute band) on my video page. All are done with a Parker Nitefly.
I am using a line 6 flextone II for both the guitar tone and as a PA amplifier. The guitar plugs into the flextone guitar input, but then the stereo effects output from the line6 goes to a mixing board where it is mixed with the stereo rhythm machine, and the guitar synth and the jam man looper, then the mixer stereo output is fed into the stereo effects return of the line6. headphone jack of the amp or the mixer is used to record. My fly deluxe was about $1,600 USD
wow...ficou uma bosta, vai punhetar na casa do caralho...mexe a mãozinha rápido qq um...e o timbre tá uma bosta, acho q teu amp tá dentro de um tonel d'água...nice...
dave is the fucking man. my friend got to meet him at National Guitar Workshop and he bought a Parker fly mojo flame because he saw how amazing the guitars were.
I'm sorry to say, but you look like crap in that shirt... But regardless of what I just said, you rock dude! Love your Parker, I'm thinking of getting one myself. 5/5
my opinion is go for the nitefly M with the DiMarzios. it's much cheaper($1200 if i'm not mistaken). Why is it cheaper? well 2 real reasons. Not Handcrafted like fly guitars. the neck is bolt-on.
but if you're going for the fly series. go for a Fly Mojo. Probably it's the best quality guitar and i'm not exgagerating. the Mojo is around 1900-2500:p
i think simore duncins get the best rock sound out of the parker- di'marzario's get that same dirty sound. i would get deluxe and put simore's in it- just in my opinion
how good are these guitars i like the double locking system thingy pioneered by ibanez and stopped playing on fenders a long time ago but it migt be fun trying one of those fly series any input?
The tremolo on the parker is the best I have used. They use Sperzel locking tuners, which tune up in less than one wrap (acually about 1/4 to 1/2 wrap and you're tuned). And a graphite nut, self lubricates. The saddles move with the bridge so no string slip there and the bridge itself is a paradigm in bridge design.
A long time, couple decades. I'm a slow learner I guess. One of my "hobbies" is electrical engineering, that took some time away from guitar playing here and there.
dude thats crazy, how long have you been playing. and thats a sick guitar, i have a gibson les paul custom but im thinking about trading in or somehting for a parker
almost any Ibanez, Gibson-Paul and ES335, Fender 60's Strats and tele's, godin, list goes on but i like each of these for differing reasons. Playability goes to Parker.
These are just my opinions but playability was the main reason I bought and love mine. The Parker Fly Deluxe is a paradigm shift in electric guitar theory/design and I'm really glad I own one. Thanks for all the positive posts on my playing btw. I do hope to get some more out here...love youtube may it last a long long time!
Don't know of any that do this good of a job. I think Ken Parker was a luthieretic Genius when he gave birth to the fly deluxe. The stainless steel tangles frets show NO signs of wear in the 12+ years I have been hammering and bending on them abusively, just amazing! (I have worn the frets completely out on a les paul in just two years of my playing.)
No locking nut to screw your tuning and scrape your left index finger on, good lord what were they thinking? The full floating yet not gargantuan bridge just feels right! The graphite nut has had to be replaced once so far but I am not complaining, it works so well with the sperzel locking tuners and the bridge to keep all the strings dead nuts on no matter how extreme I get on the whammy bar, even floyd rose and sennheisers don't compare to this.
The neck is wafer thin, super thin and the way it morphs into the body, there is nothing like that that I have seen, please examine one closely and compare to any other, i would be interested to find another guitar that has the same free access to the 24th fret. Now the Trem system, has got to be the best in the world.
Yes, I have had many, many guitars of the last ~30 years and I have got to say this is THE most playable guitar i have ever owned or played, period. Oh, there are criticisms albeit, few but by far the best for playability. For starters they are very light weight ~5 lbs. allows me to play standing for hours on end without a sorespot on my shoulder and a thin strap.
Looks aside, I bought this in 1994 for the playability!! Bought it when they first came out and were available at the San Jose Guitar Center. I paid $1600 for it and White was the only color they had. I just recently had it refinished with this lake placid blue by constantineguitars dot com (a luthier/ME i work with).
Those are great guitars, I don't know what you're talking about. Very light guitars. I kinda like the "arm" in the body, looks unique and stands out from all the guitars.
I guess it's like they say; beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I don't like the look of them, but chances are you'd probably find my Jaguar just as ugly.

parker la guitarra mas bonita del mundo
HecChavez 4 years ago
how good are these guitars i like the double locking system thingy pioneered by ibanez and stopped playing on fenders a long time ago but it migt be fun trying one of those fly series any input?

The tremolo on the parker is the best I have used. They use Sperzel locking tuners, which tune up in less than one wrap (acually about 1/4 to 1/2 wrap and you're tuned). And a graphite nut, self lubricates. The saddles move with the bridge so no string slip there and the bridge itself is a paradigm in bridge design.

how long have you been playing
tmnm47 4 years ago
A long time, couple decades. I'm a slow learner I guess. One of my "hobbies" is electrical engineering, that took some time away from guitar playing here and there.

Lastly, other guitars that I love include:
almost any Ibanez, Gibson-Paul and ES335, Fender 60's Strats and tele's, godin, list goes on but i like each of these for differing reasons. Playability goes to Parker.
youtubauser 4 years ago

For starters they are very light weight ~5 lbs. allows me to play standing for hours on end without a sorespot on my shoulder and a thin strap.
youtubauser 4 years ago
Looks aside, I bought this in 1994 for the playability!! Bought it when they first came out and were available at the San Jose Guitar Center. I paid $1600 for it and White was the only color they had. I just recently had it refinished with this lake placid blue by constantineguitars dot com (a luthier/ME i work with).

Those are great guitars, I don't know what you're talking about. Very light guitars. I kinda like the "arm" in the body, looks unique and stands out from all the guitars.

Agreed. Fantastic playing, but those Parker Fly guitars... I dunno... I wish they were just a little less... ugly.
SummerTeethEtc 4 years ago
they look fucking awesome and sound awesome.
ckyfan969696 4 years ago
I guess it's like they say; beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I don't like the look of them, but chances are you'd probably find my Jaguar just as ugly.
