  • Panansonic made a holographic prototype in the early 2000's obviously they had problems as I read about it at least 8 years ago.

    They reckoned back then about 2015 at least till we seen this sort of thing.

    I think we've a while longer than that to wait yet till we see this working well.

  • You guys scoff at this, but I've seen holographic projection like this in real time. I'm working with a company that has the software capability to do this here and now! First out the gate is 3D no glasses... ON ANY DEVICE!! (Doesn't have to be 3D capable)

  • 100% FAKE... holograms only work within their included angle.  So if a hologram seems to be projected 'outside' of the angle between your eye and the bezel edge... YOU WILL KNOW IT'S FAKE. THIS... is fake! As it is Apple does have a 3D screen patented... but it will not PROJECT an image.

  • Of course it's fake. Two things to look for in videos, that indicate 'fake holograms':  First, the image extends beyond the apparent screen. Real holograms only seem to be 3D when viewed at an angle where the screen is behind the image. And second in this case, the Apple patent for 3D, awarded last year was based on projecting the image on a rough surface and using the camera to sort out which part of the image goes to which eye... it is NOT for a 'floating in space' type image.
