Hey thanks for the post. I went to this matinee in 1956 with my buddy. We went to see his older sister who happens to be in this clip with the guy's arm around her as the old man is lecturing them about the sins of r/r. Boy, this takes me way back She later sued Howard Hughes 4 yrs later in court and won 100k. Those were great days. Thanks
@HerxUtub I have since done a little research on Mr. Dale, and it seems he was indeed a great barritone and crooner in earlier years, and had a terrific career in those modes of music. Why someone decided to put him in this film, where he was so out of place, amazes me.
I wonder was this the precursor to the original Footloose (1982).

The producer needed a recording star who was also a believable leading man.
The previous year, Dale had added R&R to his repertoire with surprising success
(ie "Rockin' the cha-cha"). As for age, he was barely 30 yrs old and thus younger
than most of the other performers (except for Little Richard, of course).

Apparently, Alan Dale had a great baritone voice. I a not disagreeing with your comment, but he was great at opera.

This film was totally ruined by the boring and too-old-to-rock Alan Dale...
