just a quick question how many cats are in each enclosure or are they seperate and i hope tony the tiger gets the good life he deserves gratz on the fantastic work
@TheOctoman34 Most cats live by themselves, all cats are solitary and they prefer this, we have enclosures with 2 or 3 cats that live together also, if they get along we want them to have companionship :)
I have to admit, I laughed so hard when Scott managed to get his hands on the Heron. The noise it made! You would think he was trying to kill it! I know it's instinct/natural, but still it made me laugh.
@Tapecutter59 he probably didnt want to get to close to the beak, i fyou were listening he said it has a huge beak, i woulnd put my hand to close to it ,just to get bit
it's a good thing the camera was between you and the bird. im glad no one got hurt during the video. that was one angry bird; although i don't think he was mad i think he was just extrememly scared he didn't know what was going to happen to him. thank you guys from BCR for helping one more innocent animal! you guys rock!!!
We had a Great Blue Heron land fly into our house a few months back. It scared the dogs and my mom and brother, and my dad was at work, so it was up to me to get the noisy thing outside. I threw a towel over it, covered its head so it wouldn't freak, and carried it outside. I'm glad he wasn't quite as noisy as the one in this video, though...
My budgie sounds like that too when you hold it like that lol. I guess birds dosnt like being trapped in somevones hands xD.
They will do anything to get free, bite, scream blalba lol. Poor tiger stuck in a cage :( Let him go back wherever he came from. Sure he might die but he will die in freedom
That bird really didn't like it! But staying in the cage with Bengali would of been worse! Bengali is a former circus tiger that as been retired to the sanctuary, our ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of business, so there is no more cats living in cages.

Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. Wow its a great that you help these animals. Even the ones who don't want your help (the bird) When I get out of school. I want to work at the ASPCA in my city & Maybe if BigCatRecue is still open I might want to volenteer there!
I discovered you guys after hearing about Tatiana the tiger. She was the cat who was shot and killed by police after attacking some teenage boys who had been bothering her.
Some of your videos were in the Related Videos section.
Hearing Tatiana's fate deeply saddened me; she was only 5 years old.
I wish she could have lived her life at your sanctuary rather than at the San Francisco zoo. If she had to be in captivity, she would have been better off at Big Cat Rescue.
What the bird told his bird buddies when he got home:
"What a day! First, a tiger tried to eat me! I fought and fought, then finally killed him!"
"Then a biped caught me, wrapped me in tin foil, and tried to put me in an oven! I thought I was a goner! But I pecked his eyes out and got away. Whew!"
Of course, if it was a girl bird, she told the truth.(;^)
VickiOrMindyB, The cats are used to being called into their lockout for various reasons, food, treats, etc. We do this daily so they are used to it just in case there is ever an emergency that we need them in there quickly. The treats in his lockout looked more appealing to him that the bird did.
What a beautiful sanctuary you have..that was one unhappy bird;at least shes happy now..the tiger is sure to forgive you for taking the bird away..how long has your organisation been running for?fab video?

THat is just a juvenile black crowned night heron. A great blue heron is 4ft tall, and much more difficult to handle.

Bengali appears to like Scott.
I just watched a video, 'Working Around Tigers,' in which Bengali was one of the tigers who didn't like Brian.
I thought that if the cats liked one person they liked them all; and if they disliked a person they disliked them all.
I guess that's not true?

I can't distract my cat for anything when she's chasing a bird or bug. She's a one-track mind kitty when she sees a potential snack.
