The Ultra-Humanite is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Action Comics #13 (June 1939), and was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Debuting as an enemy of Superman, he is the first recurring comic book supervillain
@FGGTZORZ He's the Ultra-Humanite. He's actually credited as being the first super-villain ever. He's a genius scientist who was intended to contrast Superman, in that he was an evil genius with a frail crippled body. He was assumed dead after his first appearance, but it turned out he can transfer his mind into other bodies, including that of an actress, an insect, and a t-rex. The albino gorilla body is just the most well-known of his bodies
The Ultra-Humanite in the JLU cartoons is pretty far removed from his comics roots. In the comics his most defining trait is ruthlessness, whereas in the JLU it's principles (even if they're principles that he sometimes uses to justify destruction and violence).
Gotta love how they drop so much (implied) character revelation in with the "we had one just like it" line. He grew up to reject an uncultured upbringing, but even so, he's got fond memories in his heart. His mutated gorilla heart.
This episode really shows the difference between the Timmverse Humanite and his comic book counterpart. While the Timmverse version thinks placing a bomb in the toy is a laughable notion, his DCU counterpart would have probably done just that for his own shits and giggles.
While the comic book version was the original and probably my favourite supervillain, I really love what they did with the character when translating him to tv - a benevolent but angry villain instead of a Lecter-esque killer
@captainunload He was a human, a sophisticated scientist (kind of like Luthor), and he experimented with some tech and now he's a talking giant, albino ape. Wiki: Ultra Humanite.
@Joecbg100 Nope. Humanite was a scientist with an incurable degenerative disorder; however, he was smart enough to work out that only his body was dying - if he could transplant his brain in to a new body, he would be physically "cured". His mind however is incurable, UH is one of the most twisted villains in comics: he has no moral boundaries when it comes to his research, often murdering women and children simply for a new body with which to "experiment" - The albino ape's being his favourite.

DCAU always makes the villains more than just one sided, I actually do sympathize with U-H deeply in this, and what he did was great for the kids to :)
@antony492 He is. Which is funny, since there was a christmas special on Smallville that involved Lex's dream, Clark delivering gifts in a totally non-creeper manner, and Clark preventing the real Santa Claus from committing suicide. And there is ONE episode of this show where this actor (Michael Rosenbaum) voices Lex Luthor, but that's because he and flash switch bodies. Works well though, since Lex is smart enough to fully utilize his super-speed.
I like Ultra Humanite, he is a cool villian. It's ashame Justice League didn't do more stories with him, but don't you think he should have a more.....secure cell.
When you think about it, isn't it dangerous to give a mechanical genius any amount of solid metal or electric device? Searieusly he had all the components to make a small tazer.
Bar none... best animated christmas special ever. Only thing that comes close is Pinky and the Brain... which is remarkably similar, now that I think about it. :)
lol this goes to show that some villains at heart, really are good guys ^^ and its episodes like these are the best when both good guys and bad guys call a truce in joy for the Christmas spirit
They actually made Ultra-Humanite much nicer in the animated version than he was in the comics. He also appeared in an earlier Justice League episode where he was a member of Luthor's group and betrayed them because Batman offered him more money than Luthor....money which he donated to Public Broadcasting!!! LOL
@Lissbirds in one of the episodes he made a deal with batman to donate a shit tone of money to the culture channel so he can watch it in jail and piss of lex luthor.
I gotta hand it to them. DC's animation always had the more entertaining and, at times, the most moving Christmas episodes. Even the mighty 90's X-Men cartoon didn't have as interesting a X-Mas episode.
Actually I think there are few villains beside the Ultra Humanoide who would do something like this, the guy's less evil than most other villains on JLU.
i think Ultra-Humanite ...is more likly like "the punisher"...i mean hes not a hero..but hes not such a bad guy(gorilla)..at all...hes to much into art a culture...lol...even he said it.."i welcome any oportunity to bring culture to the Uncorupted"...now that's a nice one....:)
