After max. 20-30 hours you're done with the game. The top games listed above provide a replayability 10-20 times higher then that.

If you meet an experienced beast player ingame you will have big-time trouble defending yourself against his leaps! If you've never tried the game before, you'll spawn and die the whole first week. - single map levels (no loading) where dead dont "fade off". maps are huge too
- dynamic lighting (no other game with that feature since, until doom3)
- top notch voice acting (esp. narrator)
- top notch ambient music
- enemies who actually fight back for real :D (those orcs & trolls are badass mofos lol)
and so on...
(my only real gripe is no strafing outside combat, and also no bow crosshairs at least for the amazon)

The criteria of a good Hack and Slash game are:
- no computer aided aiming, button mashing/smashing or "press X to win" moves
- precise and manually controlled combat, via a mouse
- fast paced real-time action
- human cunning, intelligence and skill (PvP)
- simple game mechanics, easy to learn but difficult to master
Thats why no DMC now stop complaining.

WHAT is it with the shitty flashy effects replacing blood and gore in the newer games?! Playing games in the 90's i thought the better graphics would add to the realism in newer games... but NO! they replaced all the awesome b&g with shitty flashy effects which look like well... SHIT. DBTS has amazing gore for a game made in it's time, why can't we have somehting like that, but newer.... PS, Savage--->THUMBS DOWN!
