Two things come to mind about this season. 1. Special Teams. I sure do miss the ST play we had that year and the years right before and after. 2. Tyler Luebke. Probably one of the most underrated Iowa defensive lineman.

there are so many great things to remember about this team: having abdul hodge AND chad greenway roaming the field; how nervous you'd get whenever antwan allen was defending a pass; groaning every time dolph or a tv announcer said "and sam brownlee up the middle for 1 yard"; tate roaming around somehow making something out of nothing; bradley screwing up another punt; matt roth, enough said; and the exact place you were when holloway made "the catch." awesome season. how bout them hawks!

things took a nosedive pretty quickly after that season for this program. kudos to the athletic department for sticking with ferentz, because until midway through last year (the PSU win especially), this guy was on a short leash and probably would have been fired

2005 was a great team but the defensive line was inexperienced and cost them 4 close games. also 2006 we just didnt have the talent. 2007 they got better but jake the snake just wasnt good enough.

Drew Tate was the MAN that year. I honestly believe he had a legitimate shot at being in the Heisman running the next year, but the 2005 season kind of proved to be a "flop" for him...

@BullzOnParade17 junior year tate was still a very solid qb and probably the only reason we won the games we did that year.. the coach's revealed his senior year after the season that he had playd with a hernia his senior year after he tried out lifting a lineman in a hay bail competition.

Thank you Scothawk. I was going through a very rough time during the '04 season myself. Watching Kirk get emotional still gets me emotional. Life is a lot better for me now and watching the Hawks has always gotten me through the down times. Take a lesson from this team and apply it to your own life and realize that nothing can keep you down if you keep your head up. GO HAWKS!
