I would recommend starting at William Hartnell-- the FIRST DOCTOR. "The ORIGINAL you might say". Don't start watching season 27, and go backwards. That doesn't make sense. Watch it from when it FIRST started, how the fandom REALLY started.. it got huge in the 70s and 80s. PBS aired Tom Baker (4th Doctor) and Peter Davison (Fifth Doctor) in the 80s. There are sadly missing episodes from Hartnell era and Troughton era (2nd Doctor) but don't let that throw you off. Plenty of other episodes to watch

@TheWonderfulMemories Doctor Who is coming up to its 50th year anniversary pretty soon. It is the longest running Sci Fi show ever (I think) and most people in the UK and other parts of the world have grown up watching it so it holds a special place in a lot of hearts. It is about a mysterious "Time Lord" who can travel anywhere in time and space and so the potential for good sci-fi story lines is huge. If you like Sci-fi or Fantasy then I highly recommend it. Hope that helps :-)

@TheWonderfulMemories The series had a sort of "reboot" although continuity still stands, in 2005 so I would recommend starting from the Christopher Eccleston episodes. They even call it "Series 1" as opposed to series 27 so its a good place to jump in. Give the show a chance, the series gets more epic the more it moves on. That gives you 6 series to get through, all available on DVD. Thats what I would recommend anyway although others may have different thoughts. Enjoy :-)

I'm not a musician, but I could hear the difference and it was wonderful. The soaring horn was a great addition.

I always liked the music from 9 and 10's era since they were like what CJCartoons says, telling of a vigilant hero. 11 is great because he in my opinion is a much needed break from rushing in and saving the day. He is whimsical and light-hearted, clever and like a child. Just what Doctor Who needs after all the seriousness of 10's time; it was not a bad seriousness by the way.
