  • Your tutorials are amazing... I wish i could play guitar 1 day like u... My problem is that i have small fingers so i cant reach top string... :(

  • If I try, as you said, to make the last joint of the finger drop directly on the string, it makes a pretty big tension in my wrist and hurts after a bit.Do you have any advices for that ?

  • @The3XpL0D It's difficult for me to diagnose technique issues without being able to see them. Warm up well. Don't overdo it. Don't play in pain. If it's starting to hurt take a break and come back to it later. If you keep having problems my advice would be to go to a teacher that can see what you are doing. Hope that helps. \m/

  • 3:22 I simply can't do that. Same with the thumb.. I see most classical fingerstyle guitar players bending their right-hand thumb like crazy all the time. Only broken knuckles would help I guess, lol!

  • Great lessons. Tecnique is just as important as a creative mind. thx

  • great teacher man...thanx God bless yah..\m/

  • Pretty much my favorite YouTube guitar teacher. Keep up the good work, I look forward to more intermediate and advanced lessons:)

  • so every 4th fret you start again with the first finger second finger third and forth agin all the way up the neck ?

  • Thumbs up for the sigil of Baphomet.

  • You my amigo ROCK! your fan and friend....myfunnybrianshow...bye. p.s. i just did a berkins and it was STINKY! Laugh Out Loud! p.p.s. my Mom makes me call farts berkins.

  • thank you very much my friend. You are a real guitar teacher for me!

  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This and part 1 were a god send. How much would you like me to donate?

  • @DisrespectYou Anything you can is appreciated. \m/

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy Question! In your part 1 video, you mentioned about the thumb being pointed straight up in the air. Is it alright if not all of the pad of my thumb is on the neck? The best description is that it slightly rolls to the left so that a majority of the left side of the pad is on the neck.

  • Dude, that lesson helped me very much, thank you!

  • for the 4th fret, do you have to use your pinky to hold it down all the time? or can u use another finger? cause it feels kinda awkward going down the frets and all of a sudden repositioning the whole hand for that one note :S

  • Would you recommend straying away from trying to learn advanced techniques when you're still learning the basics? Like trying to play something pretty advanced when you can barely hold together "simple man" lol

  • @okcthunder2010 Well I can't say that's what I did. I'd say go for it. Just be sure to pay close attention to the details and keep in mind that the more advanced the longer it may take to get down. So I think you have to willing to take it slow and be patient. Sometime progress is measured in months not days;) \m/

  • @okcthunder2010

    that's what i did.

the hardest solo i could play was guns n roses sweet child of mine and i jumped to malmsteen's arpeggios from hell.took me 3 months to learn and 6 months to clean it up. it's the fastest way if you ask me

  • fantastic 2 part lesson videos. this answerd my questions about learning pentatonic scale and what to do with my thumb and how my fingers should n shouldnt be. looked evrywhere and not found any explanations as in depth as this. fantastic thankyou. please do a vid on how to do hammer ons and pull offs on pentatonic pls lol

  • Nice lesson, I think I'll be getting my beginner friends to subscribe to you and I look forward to some more intermediate (and perhaps advanced) videos that I can learn from and correct my technique.

My only question is this - Do you think it's bad to have my fingers slightly uncurled in order to mute notes below them (when appropriate), such as my index finger being slightly flat so when on the B string it can mute the high E if playing a part which requires the E string not to ring out after?

  • @TokXilChaos Thanks my friend. The angle doesn't have to be perfect. It's just good I think to try to remember to keep them as curled as you can.

  • I'm not sure if I'm so clear on this but when you pick through scales fast, I always notice that it's palm muted, is that because you get better control over the strings than if you played it without muting? does that make sense?

  • @Ravez43567 That's a tough question to answer in a few sentences. The subject of muting and when and why to do it is a big one, but I'll be a sure to put together a video down the road on muting.

  • thanks dude....you are very informative. i cant wait for the more advanced stuff!

  • @crazycory11 Thanks! I should have some advanced stuff coming soon. Stay tuned.

  • Is that first riff Mother North by Satyricon?

  • @cerelilqt No it's from a song called Possessing The Essence Of The Cosmos from one of my bands called Anatolian Wisdom.

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy Thats a pretty kvlt song name, you heard Awaiting The Blasphemous Abomination Of The Necroyeti While Sailing On The Northernmost Fjord Of Xzfgiiizmtsath by impaled northern moonforest?

  • @cerelilqt No, but it sounds epic!

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy i thought that guy on the computer screen look familiar lol , ur lessons are good you explain stuff awesomely keep it up \m/

  • @cerelilqt There are some Anatolian videos in my favorites if you wanna check em out.

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy You a fan of windir btw?

  • @cerelilqt Yup.
