Whether your employer pays for your $12k a year health plan or gives YOU the $12k directly which you then pass on to the insurance co., the $12k is income or compensation from your employer, which some believe is "taxable income". If your health plan is "provided" by a union, it is financed by dues PAID BY YOU; you are NOT an employee and NOT being compensated...the "benefit" cannot be considered income. You paid for it WITH taxed income

So if I get my employer to charge me dues to work here, then everyone who works here and pays those dues could make that claim, if they follow your logic, right? Just thought of a possible reason for the union exemption. Whether your employer pays for your $12k a year health plan or gives YOU the $12k directly which you then pass on to the insurance co., the $12k is income or compensation from your employer, which some believe is "taxable income". If your health plan is "provided" by a union, it is financed by dues PAID BY YOU; you are NOT an employee and NOT being compensated...the "benefit" cannot be considered income. You paid for it WITH taxed income

Just to make clear...I think that insurance cos. and the IRS are two of the most egregious scams ever perpetrated. I've always seen "insurance" as a form of gambling, so imagine my surprise when I learned that the TALIBAN forbade insurance, as they considered it GAMBLING (maybe THIS is why they are being exterminated, along with the decision NOT to give Bush's buddies the pipeline deal!). If people would use insurance for catastrophic coverage, and pay for regular doctor visits out of their own pocket, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If Obama is talking about foreign combatants such as foreign Islamic Terrorists captured in foreign lands - he is entirely correct. They should and they must be held indefinitely until the war with Islamic Terrorism is over. If that is 10, 20 or 100 years - that's their problem. No country can release captured foreign combatants during an on going war. This Maddow woman is out of her mind.

A. I don't agree with the Patriot Act. It's wrong and an answer to a failed immigration department.
B. These aren't people that might do something, these are terrorist that tried to kill Americans and got caught. Most of them are religious fanatics that cannot be rehabilitated into society. Your argument about dogs is facitious. If the dog was caught with rabies, we put them down.
