  • I was a huge Mets fan back in 73' and raced home from school to see the last couple of innings of this game which was broadcast on WOR-TV Channel 9 in NY. I was 12 years old at the time. And remebered how exciting this series was, especially beating the Big Red Machine! As strange as it sounds now, back then, this game was also being televised on National TV, WNBC Channel 4 in NY. Baseball was so great back then!!

  • What a great guy...used to love watching Met games with Lindsey, Ralph and Bob. Things were so much more different then. The ball field was a dump, there wasn't all the fancy TV graphics but the games were great!

  • I met Lindsay Nelson at a restaraunt(by chance) in Montreal. in 1970. He was so nice to my family. He took time out from eating his meal on his private time to talk to me&my son about the Mets and pose for a pic. I will never forget how kind he was.

  • I met Lindsay Nelson in an Italian restaurant in Huntington New York and shook my hand, I will never forget it and he wore one of his crazy colored jackets.Nice man.

  • @mrjim271 That's awesome! (Esp. that he wore one of his crazy jackets)

  • This is good, but the Mets should be using his TV call of clinching on September 24, 1969.

  • thanks for posting this and the kiners corner..i moved from ny in 78 and have only seen 1 other kiners corner and have only heard lindsey nelson twice since then..so thank you for this, keep em comin
