@americanjedi77 No the original "V" miniseries aired on May 1, 1983 on NBC as did the follow up miniseries "V: The Final Battle" and "V: The Series". The idea of the invaders being aliens was actually not creator Kenneth Johnson's, but suggested to him by the then NBC President, Brandon Tartikoff. The original miniseries was a huge success for NBC pulling it out of what was an abysimal low streak in the ratings in the early 80s.
billpage...I hope you're correct. I'd love to see a big screen version of V. The original miniseries and Final Battle were some of my favorite shows as a kid back in the 80's.
The best comment i can remember was by Chris Farber who was Ham Tyler's right hand man, when he said " At least there won't be anymore rats in the dorm" when he found out they'd be rooming with Fifth Column visitors - that cracks me up everytime !
KEENATH JOHNSON SAW new V for ABC he shook the folks hands gave it good ideas and said he likes the idea but his idea is soon going to be on the big screens meaning in the movie theaters
You'd think that there might be a chance of V being "re-imagined", much like Battlestar Galactica. I'm so glad I have the two miniseries and the TV program on DVD.
It is! Creator Kenneth Johnson is in the process of doing a sequel mini-series. The novel is already out called "V: The Second Generation." The story takes place twenty years after the Original Mini-Series. Good read, you should check it out.
A "V" remake will be aired on ABC next year. I just saw the traler for it on Youtube. Looks like it's going to be awful. (Kenneth Johnson has nothing to do with the remake though.)

I disagree. I think it looks really interesting, and it features at least two great actors, Morena Baccarin and Joel Gretsch. If the trailer is accurate, it suggests something of a political and cultural commentary, very much in the spirit of the reimagined BSG.

This trailer and the other trailers for V The Final Battle weren't featured on any of the V DVDs which is such a shame.

They need to stop making mediocre remakes and appreciate the old stuff as it is...The new V looks bad indeed.

How about in the spirit of the original "V"? It had plenty of political and cultural commentary.

What did you think of it? I liked it very much although I would have liked more of the original characters in it
oberon1970 3 years ago
Me too. I wanted to know what happened to Robin, and her pregancy. The only thing I can think of is that they all died in the "great purge".
