wrong. For starters, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, not Mars,
not for a long time. Further, you were talking about mars in 6, saying "she's in life to be of service to other people". Well.. Mars in 6 means a lot of things, but not that. If we look at it at that (superficial) level, it would be "she asserts herself (mars) in the area of everyday routines/work (6). She would do best to work alone or be boss, Definitely not a servant. " i stopped watching there.
Post One: The method shows how to understand how someone will function in the different areas of life, so that once you have examined all the houses, and decantes, and planets, and aspect (in that order), you are in a position correctly to answer their questions about what will happen in their life.
Post Two: People tend to start with an aspect or the house placement of a planet and start talking, but you can't be specific if you haven't first considered the person's self, value sense, philsopjy of life, karma, etc. - all of which information comes from house cusps.
Mars is the personal ruler of Scorpio; Pluto is the group ruler. So if you want to know about how the native will act personally in a particular area, you have to look at Mars. If you want information based on that person's memebership of a group (tax payer, voter, householder, etc) then you would examine Pluto. I was looking at the Self of the native, so I went to Mars.
Post Four: You can ask someone about whethet young people should do military service. The person can say: "Personally, I think young people should be free for as long as they can, but as a householder, it's a good idea because it teaches them discipline."
This individual has a personal opinion, and an opinion as a member of a group and they are not the same. This is useful to know if we want the truth about how the person functions and thinks.
Post Five: The 6th is the house of service - among other things, so Mars here does mean she is in life to be of service. Some people just want to build an empire or lie around and do nothing - but this person wants to help others and it's an important motivation. Identifying what really motivates people and expressing it in direct and simple language is not superficial.
Post Six: Your example of "asserts herself (mars) in the area of everyday routines/" is just jargon that appears to be saying something, but isn't saying anything. Sound like Noel Tyl.
The method I show, when duplicated for the other houses, gives a complete description of what the person can logically expect in the different areas of life. You do not have to use convoluted, made-up statements of the sort that you use.
Part Seven / Last one: I know that the 6th rules things other than service, and that Mars has more than one meaning in this house, but I can't say them all simultaneously. I have to select a first statement - and I chose one that would be helpful for the native to understand how they are built and that they would know to be true.
You should have watched to the end of the video and the approach would have been more clear.
Hello John. This is very interesting.Thanks. I have two questions.1. I know that you prefer to use the old rulers of escorpio and piscis but would it be important to have on account pluto and neptune in your readings? 2. How do you choose between the topics of every house or sign to create an statetement in practice? This is because there are many topics in every single of them and if you added to that the decanates meanings it would be much more difficult to clarify and less certain. Thanks
1. You can think of Mars as the personal ruler of Scorpio, so if Scorpio is on a cusp and you want personal information, look to Mars; if you want group-related information, look to Pluto. Same for Jupiter and Saturn, and Neptune and Uranus.
2. It depends what the question is.If you want to know about long journeys, consider the 9th. If you want to know about philosophy, look to the 9th as well, but interpret the planets accordingly.

I LOVE the way you draw your quick charts! And thank you for the simplicity of your explanations! You've also inspired me to work with decanates more. Fascinating stuff! Thank you John!
Dear Dancer: Thanks for your note. Decanates are important since they're like the zodiac within each sign. 1st decanate is the same as the sign; 2nd is the next sign of the same element; 3rd is the last sign of the same element. So: 1st decanate Aries is Aries; 2nd is Leo; 3rd is Sagittarius. So 1st dcanate Aries is pure child; 2nd is the child who is also a king; 3rd is the child who is also a philosopher. Contrast 3rd decanate Leo - the king who is also a child. Etc.
Hey bro, don't get discouraged, astrology isn't a big thing on youtube... I mean the first thing that shows up when you search 'astrology' is bill nye the science guy bringing up the precession of the equinoxes. So I'm sure everyone's confused about it in this day and age. I like your method! I'm kind of uninformed about the decante thing I come to realize.
Wonderful presentation style ~ please continue!

I would really love to do a chart reading on your birthdate & time because you have a very deep understanding & I would love to know why!
This is highly unusual & if you don't wanna give that info I do understand but if you wouldn't mind, it would be great.
I have a deep understanding but it's scattered & I seem to gloss over too many details, yet I'm very meticulous (Jup/Sat conjunction 5th. house)...
I love your precise & easy to understand style of explaining...
