@Lvfd416 Delaware Lackawanna units in Erie Lackawanna colors are a good catch any day! Besides, the old girls need a rest from pulling trains, and a light power move is just the ticket. Not the right horn, they'd have done better with an S-5a.

This horn just needs an old-cast #5 bell to bring it to the correct root-position major 6th chord. The #4 bell is really a #4A bell (A#), the #1 bell is OC, #2 is NC, #3 is NC. With the correct #5 bell notes will be: C#,F,G#,A#,C#.

Ah yes, the K5LLAs. Not as bad as this P5, but still pretty bad compared with a good K5LA.

The K5HLs on the new GEVOs aren't any better than the K5LLAs.

The GEVO's on NS and CSX (along with Amtrak's Acela) are an e minor chord with the sixth added (e-g-b-c). The minor second between b and c is purposeful dissonance, to probably capture the ears of motorists.

Give me the old horns of the N&W, (C-E flat-G flat-A-D flat). They were quite haunting in fog-filled valleys in the spring.

Nice locomotives running together! I think that sounds OK for a P5, not the best and certainly not the worst, NS has the worst of any P5's. But certainly, those units NEED a better horn!  I like it, but it would be more suitable for an NS SD70.
