congrats dominic on winning corn ui riada.the highest honour one can bestow on a sean nos singer.Maith thu fhein Bhi an corn i Rann na Feirste agus i NGort and choirce...agus anois Gaoth Dobhair
Wow...I was just reminiscing about my trip to Ireland in the summer of 2004 and I'm so happy I stumbled upon this. I went to do some broad (very broad) research about sean-nos singing, and one of the first people I met was Doimnic at the Irish World Music Center. I still treasure the tape of the interview. I doubt he would remember me now - it was only a few hours in my month-long trip. I just wanted to comment because I never would have expected to see this on YouTube. Beautiful singing!
I was lucky enough to take a class in sean-nós singing from him last winter in Donegal when I made this recording. I am interested in knowing about your research, it sounds fascinating!
the ease which people in the Gaeltacht float in and out of Irish/English... This was taken during a class, in a very informal atmosphere; in the morning after heavy partying the night before, and every night; well you get the picture...:)
dominic rocks:)!
