  • i love this thing, do u have a naval engineering degree or something along the lines, or do u know all that you do from books, and trial and error

  • @Zepolodon, i know my stuff with the lathe and electronics, the rest is trail and error.

  • @Knikebein does this sub have a ballast system, or just use fans in it?

  • @Zepolodon, this sub has a ballastsystem with a free flooded ballasttank, there is also a system to compensate the torpedo's once fired.

  • @Knikebein i've always wanted to make a submarine, but i just havnt had the tools, nor electronics knowlege... ive been getting better, just not god enough

  • @Zepolodon, It was the same story with me, first tried to build some rc boats running on the surface, with that gained experience tried the step to submarines, after each try i got closer, the type VII is my third sub that i've build, so being persistant pays off.

  • @Knikebein what i do when i make boats is get an old RC airplain motor, that i bought, and then broke... and then i dont have to make a circut board, that if i mess up on one little thing, like ive known myself to sodder to points on the board together accidentally, and then have my batteries leak kuz they are short circuiting, actually that only happened once, when i was modifying this laptop to make it able to run win95

  • @Knikebein was this a kit, or built from scratch?

  • @Zepolodon, i bought the hull, the rest is scratchbuild.

  • Dude I think u need more pressure on ur spring system for it to wrk in a battle

  • did you made this submarine????????????????????

  • @MrRida001 , Yep

  • how do you keep the water out of the launch system?

  • @wyz2285, the launchsystem is allready flooded by the water, so i don't need to keep the water outside.

  • @Knikebein so the control system is inside the water?i think i see a micro servo there,it's inside the water too?

  • @wyz2285, The servo's to control the torpedotube are placed inside the watertight compartment, only the rods of the firingsystem are placed in the water.

I've seald off the rods with the use of lipseals to make it watertight.

  • @Knikebein thanks that's very helpful

  • well that was a bit anticlimatick.... or how ever the hell u spell it

  • mooi model, en oo wel mooi gemaakt, meschien kun je een mini motortje inbouwen zodat ie echt snel weg''vliegt'''. Maar voorderest wel mooi ;)

  • can you rig the torpedo to blow up when it hits something?

  • the submarine had an erection lol :)

those things are propelled with motors so they only need a small spring boost i think :P

  • boom your ship blows up!!!! it didnt go all the way out . spring needs more power

  • prachtig model

  • how did you make the magnetic switch?

  • where did youbuy and what website is it in?

  • I build this after my own design, there is no website for it

  • amazig my congratulations

  • You have serious talent man! That looks wicked!

  • constipation?

  • No, more a case of a weak spring, i redesigned the mechanism, it's works fine now

  • LOL no you are an epic fail.

When submerged the torpedo will propell itself (duh) so there is no need to catapult the torpedo out of the sub with a lot of force.

  • fair enough =P

  • Actually, it has to overcome the force of the water pushing against it, so a catapulting action will give it that much more oomph before the propeller is engaged by the sea. It's not necessary on a real sub, but it makes sense in scale, where the motors are not so powerful.

  • hmmm... well the motors on these torpedos are very powerful, (if you have watched his other videos) I think on these torpedos the power is actually out of proportion (which I really don't mind)

And the torpedo-room is already flooded when he fires his torpedos (not watertight) so the torpedos are already in the water prior to firing.

The motors are engaged by magnetic switches, so on this model the torpedos just need to go forward for 2cm and the propellors will spin.

  • u sound like an idiot, subs propel the torp out using air pressure, it practicly catapults out

  • I know that, and I don't know to which one of my 3 comments you are replying, but I was talking about this specific RC model.

  • gij bent knetter gek

  • Hope that wasnt a live torpedo or looks like you might be rebuilding lol

    Nice to see not ev

  • Not really, because after being pushed out the tube the torpedo will propell itself.

  • You need to work on the range.

  • You're right about the type it's a VIIC, it's not graupner but selfbuild from the start

  • viic? graupner?

  • German WWII submarine

  • Cool!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool all left is to put in water and hope it doesnt stuck in the tube
