I love how Heath was so in tune with the Joker. He came up with this clapping, fiddling with the remote outside the hospital, the make up, the laugh, he directed the tape where he kills the man pretending to be batman. He was so good!

That DOES looks like a... just random... potato peeler, but I think it's actually a cupid blade, or a knock-off of one. That was great improvisation by Ledger; and I liked the reaction from Commissioner Gordon (Oldman) and Detective Stephens (Szarabajka). Great acting all around and a great, entertaining flick. I hope there'll be a part 3.

No he wasn't. I saw an interview he made and he said that the only thing he wanted after a mavie was completed was to sleep deeply and regain energy. What happened was an accidental overdose because his work in this film demanded more energy then any other role he could imagine. He took too many pills because he couldnt sleep, that's all. Maybe he thought that they werent working so nothing would happen if he took some more and then Boom. Pity. RIP.

It seems indeed that the clapping is an improvisation from Heath, if it's really true, it's freakin great. I couldn't agree more,Gary Oldman deserves an Oscar, he 's awesome, and I would love to see a mix of him fom both movie too.

The clapping was Heath's idea, I read it in a few places on the internet. He just started clapping and the director liked it so put it in the movie.

OMG I'd love to see Gary Oldman get an Oscar and I'd love to see a mix of just him from both movies because Gordon is certainly I my favorite character.

@horeos001 it is true, the actor who performed the mayor (nestor carbonell) told that in a latin late show, he said (in spanish) that heath impro that clapped, Nolan loved the way he understood the character... Heath really took the joker very personally.
