  • Rest in Peace, Lady Day.

  • Just listen to the words people!! This is REAL talent used to make REAL music. Any assortment of rhyming and word ability today is used in vain. This music has actual meaning and describes more than that of today's mediocre, cacophonous music. I'm only 18, yet I shake my head in dismay at today's society. Let us learn to open our eyes perhaps?

  • @talkinwalnut1 Oh god, this might be the gayest thing i've read

  • @szgerg91 Maybe you need to read more then. XP

  • @szgerg91 Then you should get out more.

  • @Kkaraz then you took an arrow to the knee, right?

  • its so beautiful her voice is wery beautiful i will allways love billie holiday and R.I.P

  • I first heard this song during my virgin adventures into the capital wasteland of Fallout 3. But the song grew to mean more to me, when the man I loved used to call me crazy for being in love with him. He died last week at the age of 25. We never got to have a life together. It's funny how a simple phrase that has no meaning to anyone else, could stir the fire in my heart.

  • @darkstarrshines

I'm sure that I am not the only one here who is very sorry for your loss. Hang in there!

  • @darkstarrshines *digital hug*

  • CHARON AND DOGMEAT FTW!!!

  • It's just amazing, listening to this makes me look at simple things with another view, it makes me relax, it makes me taste the life.

  • @adamnalgiev It makes me taste the life too! I love true music!

  • thanks you fallout 3 !

  • This song kept my love life going when I was a kid. Guilt to a lover almost always works.

  • I am crazy in love with you. I'll go through fire through FALLOUT 3

  • its not about coming on here and dissing music. music is neither goood or bad music is just music and you should be able to appreciate all types of music the love and the creatvity that goes itnto it

im 15 and i listen to all types of music and i appreciate it all but im not trrying to prove myself im an individual not a youth

  • thanks fallout 3 for all the fun and for make a fan of Billie holiday

  • gaga, selena gomez and miiley cyrus Y U NO sing like billie holiday? <3

  • FO3 didn't get me into this music...The sheer Beauty and depth of musicians of this era is what got me into it. Music like this is real, it's meaningful.

  • i used to love this song, but then i took a leg to my knee....

  • how does this only have 75000 views?

  • i'm a hard rock and metal fan.. and then i played fallout 3... wow!!! some great tunes there <3

  • To the Fallout fans: this was in Fallout 2 as well. c:

  • I'm an old school headbanger...and this soundtrack is f***ing hilarious, besides that fact that this is all great music. Nothing like a firefight with Talon Co mercs while listening to Billie Holiday...or Roy Brown...or (my personal favorite) Danny Kaye and the Andrews Sisters...Whoever did this soundtrack needs a raise....just wish they had MORE tunes from this era..

  • because of fallout this the only music i listen to

  • Oh Wat a Voice!

    FO3 4 Ever!

    DC

  • Looks like queen latifah

  • everytime a hear this song i always get a feeling of delight :) i was so born in the wrong era!!!! this 40's and 50's music is the best thing to happen to this world since the wheel!!!!!!

  • ah i love my pamela

  • i dont say to my friends , what im listening ,cause they gonna call me crazy , but , sure im crazy , crazy in love ...

  • i brought myself here. because my taste in music is outstanding.

  • @yeahimhonest You should see a doctor about that swollen ego.

  • @Unlusky no shame!

  • I love that the younger generations have love for Beautiful music, and I also would like to thank Fallout 3 not sure what that is but ty!!

  • @JMCyoungblood fallout 3 is a post appocolyptic game that lest players explore the wastelands of washington DC and the only music that plays is 40's and 50's music, i used to be into all of todays crap but now i'm in love with songs like this and even Bob Crosby

  • @jgamefreak20 Thanks a million :)

  • Fallout 3 bro...nuff said

  • @HelloThereTragedy bro....yeah bro...

  • OH WOW,,Love it,, takes me back to a simpler, kinder, gentler time

  • I just love billie holliday. I didn't even know this song was on Fallout 3.

  • fallout helped me find all these amazing songs. Fallout saved me from modern music that makes you death at 21. if fallout played rap i would'nt play. I remember mowing down talon company mercs and muties while listening to this song.

  • i don't care about fallout 3.Yes,i hear that great song in FO3.But i'll just listen to it.Without complain about "huh,it's from game".It's rly great, and i can even say "sure,i'm crazy" about myself.

  • I don't know what a "fallout 3" is, but I do love older music like the 1910's, 1920' s along with the 40's and 50's.

Pretty impressive for a 13 year old girl, no?

  • @XxXCauseImAwesomeXxX if you're 13 you know what fallout is so I'm calling bullshit

  • @XxXCauseImAwesomeXxX thats cool, I was raised on 50's music but don't mins some 10's and 20's stuff.

my grandads a big Al Jolson fan hehe

  • the only problem with this song is that it doesn't play often enough =( I'ts my favourite and it' always makes the wasteland a little more brighter ^^

  • I used to snipe the raiders in the mall listening to this music... man those were days...

  • @KKarkaz THE MALL didnt have raiders smart one say it with me SUPER MUTANTS

  • @KKarkaz then i took an arrow to the crippled knee

  • @KKarkaz

Than you took a bottlecap shrapnel to the knee huh? :P

  • @Bram25 I was an adventurer like you one day but... :)

  • I appreciate that Fallout 3 has this song on their soundtrack, along with a few other 'oldies but goodies', but is anyone really here out of fandom? I am.

  • @SavannahxSuiciDE They say these things incorrectly. Fallout taught us or reminded us of these artists, making us fans.

In other words, Fallout makes us fans, thus we come out of fandom.

  • @TehGamersGarage Haha, Well, that I can relate to. Movies also play a role.

  • i cant believe a few months ago, i was indifferent to jazz, couldnt care less about it, now im hooked on it

  • Without this music..there would be no new music. I love it!

  • fallout 3 i love you .... im a 13 year old girl and because of fallout 3 i dont listen to all the crap these days i listen to 40's and 50's music people often ask me ''whats that crap your listening to'' i just reply with '' its not crap its beautiful''

  • @peri4matt Yeah, I hate when people act like I'm weird for listening to this. It really is beautiful. At least respect my tastes, it's so insulting when people say it's weird. They just seem really shallow because they hear how old it sounds and automatically think it won't sound good. Oh, I do know a few people that love this kind of music.

  • @peri4matt I love oldies to and I'm 12

  • @peri4matt amen brother, amen

  • @peri4matt Im a 13 year old girl and the stuff they have on the radio is crap. The older the music the better it is it seems. :) i totally agree with you

  • Comment removed

  • @peri4matt Listen to some 60-80s rock... They are aweomse

  • @peri4matt Something similar happened to me at your age. It was decades ago. I like(d) music of my parents' generation; they didn't like Billie Holiday. I like(d) Big Bands too (Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman etc.). Parents didn't/don't. Mom liked Petula Clark, Robert Goulet and (brace yourself) Led Zeppelin & Styx. I like Zeppelin now but not the others. Mom bought 1st Zeppelin when released. Brothers & I yelled at her, "Turn that stuff off!" Was going thru her midlife crisis then.

  • @peri4matt Well said.

  • @peri4matt actually it's more 30s and 40s music

  • @peri4matt i loled hard

  • @peri4matt haha, people ask me that as well. And I started listening to these songs since I was 17. But I still do listen to new stuff, anything besides Pop.

  • @peri4matt Same with me. Check out my Good Songs playlist on my channel and scroll through. I think you'll enjoy it.

  • @peri4matt Good for you. you're off to a good start in life. You must understand the past to comprehend the present. That's why todays youth is so lost, but you are the exception.

  • @peri4matt ... GOOD FOR YOU!!! you just keep listening to that great music from the 40s and 50s! I listened to the same kind of music from the 40s and 50s when I was a kid and I'm a great pianist today because I didn't fall for crappy music... you stick to what you know is right and you'll never go wrong!

  • @peri4matt Great, another 13 year old boasting about how they don't listen to shit music. You want a medal sweetheart?

  • @Rockadaclocka Be thankful they're not breaking into your house listening to the new music that's coming out ;D You know what they say, music does influence actions ;D So yes, I'd say they do deserve a medal ^_^

  • @Rockadaclocka Great, another troll content to cast aspersions on someone's positivity from the comfort of their computer chair. And yes, I am aware of the inherent irony in this statement.

  • @synistralpsyche Quite ironic. At least you're a person of intelligence and logic, and it's quite pleasant to see on this once-great site. However, you can't honestly say that you don't become infuriated when you see repetitive bullshit like her comment, can you?

  • @Rockadaclocka I'll admit, there is no shortage of vacuous blather on this site. Best to tune (heh) it out I think, as we humans will be chirping until the end of time. For now, I have some so more relevant places to be than youtube.

  • @synistralpsyche Good day.

  • @peri4matt U are exactly like me XD

  • @peri4matt Yes! I love you!!

I am a 15 year old boy, I Literally love every style of music for different purposes. I LOVE 20's-50's music so much. It truely is beautiful.

  • @peri4matt Good, this is the foundation of true music. Keep on listening :)

  • Beautiful music. To me it sounds quite avantgarde for 1949. The photo of smiling Billie leaning her ear into the bell of skinny young Satchmo's trumpet is priceless.

  • i love me some hip hop but i love this music too thank you fallout 3

  • if there was a 30's side and 20th century side, i would shit on a dinner plate and piss in a cup then give it to modern society's music industry. fucking hopeless today, been born in the wrong time, with the worst music! :((

  • Funny how it takes an iconic game to show people these beauties :)

  • wahooo...trop bon de l'écouter...c'est comme un retour à la maison...

  • Billie cantava como se não houvesse o amanhã, uma música que continua muito atual, mesmo passados 62 anos !!! Talvez a maior de todas as divas do Jazz !!!

Salve Billie !!! Eternamente em nossos corações !!!

    Ivan Bocalon

  • very nice...

  • I came here cuz i despise modern music.

  • @FryScreamer666 same

  • @FryScreamer666 I came on modern music :)))))

  • fallout3 has to do alot with fire, but also memories of idk alot of shit its hard to explaine

but fallout3 songs generally have to do with fire, plus these great songs r great

  • thumbs up if the good ol' Fallout 3 brought you here :)

  • @RockyTheKittyKat Why does it matter where we learned it?

  • @RockyTheKittyKat on the other side if developers of any game introduce you to such artist as Billie Holiday, one huge thumb for them... ;) great soundtracks both but the NW doesn't have the feeling as F3 anymore because of songs like this :)

  • reminds me of searching ruined buildings and killing monsters for some reason...

  • this always reminds me of vault 87

  • @RockyTheKittyKat i knew the song but i didnt know it was that old lol

  • I remember listening to this with my Aunt when I was young :D she had a Billy Holiday tape she'd play in the kitchen, among others.

  • whats sad about this song is that nearly every man she had, had abused her. And here she is, pouring her heart out for one of them.

  • I need this lady in new vegas, to move the mountains for me, god damn new vegas mountains

  • my fav song when i play fallout 3 ..

  • no offence, but I prefer Emilie's version.

  • I hate getting out of my car in Grand theft auto because i dont want to stop the music.

  • One person either hit the wrong button by accident or has never been in love...

  • @nejisfangirl1 They've also never needed this song to stop them shitting themseves when they first found a substation full of feral ghouls in fallout3 armed only with a baseball bat...

  • this song kept me going through dark caves in the game

  • Vault dwellers, Vault dwellers everywhere !

  • This song makes me well up in the eye every single time, which is weird, because its not like I have any other association with it then fallout 3.

  • This song was playing when I got the bobble-head from the Dunwich Building. I remember vividly shitting my pants as this soothing music played lol.

  • How lovely is this song.... Special thanks to the makers of the Game Fallout 3 who used this song as part of the in-game Radio station playlist for 3Dog and Galaxy news radio...A great way to teach kids and adults a bit of musical history.

  • It is a great thing that Fallout 3 has brought this beautiful kind of music to the younger generations. I love Jazz and I also Love Fallout, it's one of my all time favorite games!

  • oh how i love this song...

  • Man I thought this song was sung by a goul.

  • literally a beautiful song, sung by a beautiful voice

  • Fallout 3 definitely has one of the best soundtracks in a video game for sure.

  • @Bagmen3 Mafia II beats it. And then you also have Bioshock. But yeah, Fallout 3's musical selection is great.

  • @Griesmayer Bioshock had a fantastic soundtrack, but I haven't gotten around to playing Mafia II just yet. I'll make sure to check it out.

  • @Bagmen3 you won't regret it. IMO mafia II captured the look and feel of the late 40s and early 50s PERFECTLY.

  • Lady Day!

  • What is Fallout?

  • @johnsonyourfired A hit first person shooter game released on the Xbox 360 gaming console. It had a soundtrack of classy music such as this. Music from the golden age! :)

  • @Malleolust Not just released on Xbox 360, by the way :P But yeah, class soundtrack!

  • -Fallout 3 Reference-

  • @butterfinger345 o rly?

  • fallout :P awesome :)

  • @Lunarcheese72 GTFO

  • @willneubauer oh... you like muse.... ugh. don't even need to insult you.

  • @Lunarcheese72 It fine if you don't like it, an you can exspress your opinion, but you don't have to be so rude about it! Some things are better to keep to yourself.

  • @xXxpOiZuNcUpCaKexXx I have a right to express my opinion just as anyone else does. I don't like this song or this artist. You'll just have to deal with it.

  • @Lunarcheese72 I never said you couldn't express your opinion! But that was pretty harsh.

  • @Lunarcheese72 sorry i dont mean to be rude but if you dont like the song why did you search it?

  • Comment removed

  • Marvelous!!!

  • obvious troll is obvious and you guys fell for it HARD well played drink from my thick dick well played.

  • No offence EA, but I prefer the original version =)

  • I found out about this song with fallout, but its sad that I didn't know before it. Kind of sad that we know this 60 year old song from a video made less than 5 years ago..

  • Beautiful.

  • Thanks Fallout 3 for taking me to the world of jazz and swing music, and getting me out of the world of shitty auto-tuned Pop, while being such a great fucking game.

  • @Jorgenitaliko

Well said and i Totally agree

  • @DogGhost21 Man I'm not kidding, after playing Fallout 3 I became obsessed with this music, is so lovely, FML for not being born in the 30's

  • Very good classic song Thumbs Up!

  • its a shame that music nowadays is so utterly shit.

what happened to the real talent like Holiday, instead we got shit like JLS and X factor contestants.

  • @BIGthatsme There's still a lot of good music around these days, its just that little of it ends up in the charts, which are full of shit like JLS and X Factor contestants

  • Good ole' Billie on a chilly January night warms and soothes the soul

  • @DrinkFromMyThickDick

Shame on you for spoiling a perfectly good video with your absurd comment, but I forgive you ... Just be more respectful in the future please!

  • @DrinkFromMyThickDick

Bigot. There are a hell of a lot more white people on welfare than anyone else. If you have a problem with the way your distorted ass view perceives things then maybe you should just get into politics and see how many people vote for your racist ass.

  • @DrinkFromMyThickDick Why the fuck does that even matter, dude?

  • @DrinkFromMyThickDick I bet you got a puny dick dont you .... you fucken homo

  • @rascal2174 For someone who obviously is a bigot, he's left the same comment on other vids too... The jerk can't even think conjure up other insults! He's even more ignorant that I thought! Why do people like him still exist??? And it's sad to think he had children... who feel the same as him! People like him should not breed!

  • @rascal2174 what do you got against puny dicks?

  • i cant believe i love this song because of fallout 3. look up her bio billie holiday it fits the game!!! with all do respect.

  • I probly wouldnt have liked this song as much if i wasnt wandering though the wastes, to slowly come accross a beautiful sunrise..

  • how awesome that an amazing video game introduced a generation to amazing music :) Fallout 3 and Billie Holiday FTW \m/

  • I love singing this kind of music. :) My mom did a good job raising me music wise and when I first played Fallout on the computer and heard Ink Spots I immediately fell in love with the game. Now, I can't stop playing any of the Fallout games. Especially New Vegas and FO3. :DD Best game ever in my opinion!

  • Love it! Best rendition I have heard.

  • I'm personally not a big fan... Not my type of music, I guess.

  • fallouts generally got the best music..

  • rly like fallout 3 got gd songs

  • Wonderful music :)

  • hopefully this will teach some retard kids who play fallout (awesome game) that theres better things than justin bieber.

  • @brod2man: Ha!!!
