Just listen to the words people!! This is REAL talent used to make REAL music. Any assortment of rhyming and word ability today is used in vain. This music has actual meaning and describes more than that of today's mediocre, cacophonous music. I'm only 18, yet I shake my head in dismay at today's society. Let us learn to open our eyes perhaps?
I first heard this song during my virgin adventures into the capital wasteland of Fallout 3. But the song grew to mean more to me, when the man I loved used to call me crazy for being in love with him. He died last week at the age of 25. We never got to have a life together. It's funny how a simple phrase that has no meaning to anyone else, could stir the fire in my heart.
its not about coming on here and dissing music. music is neither goood or bad music is just music and you should be able to appreciate all types of music the love and the creatvity that goes itnto it
im 15 and i listen to all types of music and i appreciate it all but im not trrying to prove myself im an individual not a youth
FO3 didn't get me into this music...The sheer Beauty and depth of musicians of this era is what got me into it. Music like this is real, it's meaningful.
great song I mean I'm 15 and started listening to this oldie music when i started playing fallout 3. and that hooked me on to anything 1920-1969. its great. i never listened to any of that rap crap with all that autotuned music and eeggghhhh. it sucks. But this IS GREAT
I'm an old school headbanger...and this soundtrack is f***ing hilarious, besides that fact that this is all great music. Nothing like a firefight with Talon Co mercs while listening to Billie Holiday...or Roy Brown...or (my personal favorite) Danny Kaye and the Andrews Sisters...Whoever did this soundtrack needs a raise....just wish they had MORE tunes from this era..
everytime a hear this song i always get a feeling of delight :) i was so born in the wrong era!!!! this 40's and 50's music is the best thing to happen to this world since the wheel!!!!!!
@JMCyoungblood fallout 3 is a post appocolyptic game that lest players explore the wastelands of washington DC and the only music that plays is 40's and 50's music, i used to be into all of todays crap but now i'm in love with songs like this and even Bob Crosby
fallout helped me find all these amazing songs. Fallout saved me from modern music that makes you death at 21. if fallout played rap i would'nt play. I remember mowing down talon company mercs and muties while listening to this song.
i don't care about fallout 3.Yes,i hear that great song in FO3.But i'll just listen to it.Without complain about "huh,it's from game".It's rly great, and i can even say "sure,i'm crazy" about myself.
the only problem with this song is that it doesn't play often enough =( I'ts my favourite and it' always makes the wasteland a little more brighter ^^
I appreciate that Fallout 3 has this song on their soundtrack, along with a few other 'oldies but goodies', but is anyone really here out of fandom? I am.
fallout 3 i love you .... im a 13 year old girl and because of fallout 3 i dont listen to all the crap these days i listen to 40's and 50's music people often ask me ''whats that crap your listening to'' i just reply with '' its not crap its beautiful''
@peri4matt Yeah, I hate when people act like I'm weird for listening to this. It really is beautiful. At least respect my tastes, it's so insulting when people say it's weird. They just seem really shallow because they hear how old it sounds and automatically think it won't sound good. Oh, I do know a few people that love this kind of music.
@peri4matt Im a 13 year old girl and the stuff they have on the radio is crap. The older the music the better it is it seems. :) i totally agree with you
@peri4matt Something similar happened to me at your age. It was decades ago. I like(d) music of my parents' generation; they didn't like Billie Holiday. I like(d) Big Bands too (Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman etc.). Parents didn't/don't. Mom liked Petula Clark, Robert Goulet and (brace yourself) Led Zeppelin & Styx. I like Zeppelin now but not the others. Mom bought 1st Zeppelin when released. Brothers & I yelled at her, "Turn that stuff off!" Was going thru her midlife crisis then.
@peri4matt haha, people ask me that as well. And I started listening to these songs since I was 17. But I still do listen to new stuff, anything besides Pop.
@peri4matt Good for you. you're off to a good start in life. You must understand the past to comprehend the present. That's why todays youth is so lost, but you are the exception.
@peri4matt ... GOOD FOR YOU!!! you just keep listening to that great music from the 40s and 50s! I listened to the same kind of music from the 40s and 50s when I was a kid and I'm a great pianist today because I didn't fall for crappy music... you stick to what you know is right and you'll never go wrong!
@Rockadaclocka Be thankful they're not breaking into your house listening to the new music that's coming out ;D You know what they say, music does influence actions ;D So yes, I'd say they do deserve a medal ^_^

@Rockadaclocka I'll admit, there is no shortage of vacuous blather on this site. Best to tune (heh) it out I think, as we humans will be chirping until the end of time. For now, I have some so more relevant places to be than youtube.
Beautiful music. To me it sounds quite avantgarde for 1949. The photo of smiling Billie leaning her ear into the bell of skinny young Satchmo's trumpet is priceless.
if there was a 30's side and 20th century side, i would shit on a dinner plate and piss in a cup then give it to modern society's music industry. fucking hopeless today, been born in the wrong time, with the worst music! :((
Billie cantava como se não houvesse o amanhã, uma música que continua muito atual, mesmo passados 62 anos !!! Talvez a maior de todas as divas do Jazz !!!
Salve Billie !!! Eternamente em nossos corações !!!
@RockyTheKittyKat on the other side if developers of any game introduce you to such artist as Billie Holiday, one huge thumb for them... ;) great soundtracks both but the NW doesn't have the feeling as F3 anymore because of songs like this :)
@nejisfangirl1 They've also never needed this song to stop them shitting themseves when they first found a substation full of feral ghouls in fallout3 armed only with a baseball bat...

@xXxpOiZuNcUpCaKexXx I have a right to express my opinion just as anyone else does. I don't like this song or this artist. You'll just have to deal with it.
I found out about this song with fallout, but its sad that I didn't know before it. Kind of sad that we know this 60 year old song from a video made less than 5 years ago..
Thanks Fallout 3 for taking me to the world of jazz and swing music, and getting me out of the world of shitty auto-tuned Pop, while being such a great fucking game.
@BIGthatsme There's still a lot of good music around these days, its just that little of it ends up in the charts, which are full of shit like JLS and X Factor contestants

Dr. Dick feels that the African poo-colored monkey race expects everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. Jobs, housing, welfare…You see, I dislike that dark hand in my pocket, and my nice white children do as well.
As for Billie Holiday…well she had a voice, I‘ll give her that. Shame she was so dark, though.
Bigot. There are a hell of a lot more white people on welfare than anyone else. If you have a problem with the way your distorted ass view perceives things then maybe you should just get into politics and see how many people vote for your racist ass.
@rascal2174 For someone who obviously is a bigot, he's left the same comment on other vids too... The jerk can't even think conjure up other insults! He's even more ignorant that I thought! Why do people like him still exist??? And it's sad to think he had children... who feel the same as him! People like him should not breed!
I love singing this kind of music. :) My mom did a good job raising me music wise and when I first played Fallout on the computer and heard Ink Spots I immediately fell in love with the game. Now, I can't stop playing any of the Fallout games. Especially New Vegas and FO3. :DD Best game ever in my opinion!
Rest in Peace, Lady Day.

@xXxpOiZuNcUpCaKexXx I have a right to express my opinion just as anyone else does. I don't like this song or this artist. You'll just have to deal with it.
Lunarcheese72 10 months ago
@Lunarcheese72 I never said you couldn't express your opinion! But that was pretty harsh.
xXxpOiZuNcUpCaKexXx 10 months ago
@Lunarcheese72 sorry i dont mean to be rude but if you dont like the song why did you search it?

I found out about this song with fallout, but its sad that I didn't know before it. Kind of sad that we know this 60 year old song from a video made less than 5 years ago..

Thanks Fallout 3 for taking me to the world of jazz and swing music, and getting me out of the world of shitty auto-tuned Pop, while being such a great fucking game.

@DogGhost21 Man I'm not kidding, after playing Fallout 3 I became obsessed with this music, is so lovely, FML for not being born in the 30's

its a shame that music nowadays is so utterly shit.
what happened to the real talent like Holiday, instead we got shit like JLS and X factor contestants.
BIGthatsme 1 year ago
@BIGthatsme There's still a lot of good music around these days, its just that little of it ends up in the charts, which are full of shit like JLS and X Factor contestants

This comment has received too many negative votes show

Shame on you for spoiling a perfectly good video with your absurd comment, but I forgive you ... Just be more respectful in the future please!
