I'm sorry but I find Leno funnier than Letterman. I really can't stand Letterman to be honest. I'm not defending Leno's decision to return to the Tonight Show but I'd certainly rather have him there than Letterman.

Letterman came out fine. He got more money from CBS than NBC would have paid him, and got to own his own show, which NBC wasn't willing to do (Leno does not own his show). He ought to thank Leno for making it possible to come out better on CBS than he would have on NBC. Had Letterman's ratings tanked in the mid-late 90's, as they did on CBS, NBC would not have kept him on the show. CBS gave him a raise!

I actually think Letterman would've done a great job on the Tonight Show...and you know what? He would've handed the Tonight Show over to Conan with honor and grace. Instead of acting like a big baby, and threaten the network into giving him that 10pm show that "bombed" the entire primetime leading into late night. Conan was doing a great job on the Tonight Show. And the people who watched would agree. But because people weren't tuning into Leno, they weren't tuning into Conan.
