@grenadelogan god, it makes me wanna move to Texas or something, trying to build a Short Barreled Breaching shotgun (to sell to a cop) and Illinois is not a very fun place for gun laws.
@rockpup Hi mate, i have a couple of questions, sorry if I'm boring you.
Which is more accurate, the M24 (24'' barrel) or the Remington 700P (26'' barrel, and detachable magazine, in wikipedia it says the 26'' is heavier so it improves the accuracy, and less recoil because its a little more heavy)
Booth Using the .308 bullets, and .300 Winchester Magnum?
And the Remington 700P can also use a similar rail used in the M24 and Emergency iron sights, floorplate latch with some special updates?
hows come your shootin 2600fps with that bolt action, just what your rifle shoots best with??? just curious my 308's are shooting around 2665fps on the chrony, and they are semi auto.
I set up this load for accuracy without using a chronograph. I later ran into a guy who let me use his and got 2600fps. That seems low but at 1000 yards the point of impact is right where a ballistics program predicted it would be. I know match barrels/chambers can result in higher velocities, this one is bone stock Rem 700.
well you got yourself a nice set up there, and you cant go wrong if your ballistic program puts you right on the money, i use sierra infinity six suite for my program, its got all you need, ever try it?
Read the description, it was -not- that f'ing quiet. The mic on the little camera sucked. Look at the thermal vid with this rifle to get a better idea what it sounds like.
I noticed the magazine attached so you don't have to load the bullets individually. Do they have a mod for the 700 to make it semi-auto? Seems using the bolt-action would take you off target.
Recoil is less and in most cases there is a increase in accuracy. WHY you ask why not. Quite no earplugs or muffs to wear depending on the suppressor you buy. A Le sniper has no need to muffle the sound in most cases the guy he shoots at will be dead before the sound reaches him.
@marinen02 yeah well, these laws come about for a reason, which three cities have had the worst gun related crime levels historically? New York, Chicago and Los Angeles
so it's for a good reason, if you really want some thing to complain about go to australia or brittan and try and own a gun =) then come back and talk
Not illegal on the federal level, just regulated by the BATFE. As far as your other comment, suppressors are rarely, if ever, used in crime. Suppressors do not really mask a gunshot that well because the bullet is still supersonic (unless you buy subsonic ammo, which rarely if ever cycles semi-autos and has much poorer ballistic properties). Even a suppressed 5.56 NATO still sounds like a .22LR. The main thing many shooters use them for is as an additional guard against hearing damage.
It shoots about 1moa high with the suppressor attached. This is repeatable not only when re-attaching the suppressor for each trip at the range, but over a few month span I have not had to re-adjust the scope.
Only The Best in Fort Lauderdale FL threaded it. It was an older style thread, only 5/8-18, not fine thread, but I have not had any issues with it coming loose on me. I tend to have it off every 20-25 rounds to clean the barrel. Groups really start opening up after 35 rounds, and since I keep my handloads in bags of 25, it's easy to keep track of when to clean.
It's an AWC Spectrum 90, the ammo is handloaded winchester brass with a 175gr Sierra Matchking, CCI BR2 primer, and 44.4gr of Varget powder. I get about 2600fps. This load works great out to 1000 yards.
No way thats Super S ammo pal! I've been shooting sniper loads in the USMC for for nearly 8 yrs and they arn't that quiet.
Just do a search on here for Super S vs.Sub sonic and listen to the difference!

i thought it was illegal to hav a silencer especially on a rifle
steelfox56 2 years ago
It is only illegal in some states. The states that allow them you have to jump through some hoops to get the Tax stamp from the government.
disturbedone5009 2 years ago
@steelfox56 They are legal in 35 states.

What model 700 did you buy to be able to use magazines like that?
disturbedone5009 2 years ago
it's a bottom metal replacement from HS precision, works great since the stock is made by HS precision for Remington.

Ok. I want a 700 but the detachable mag looks awesome.
Thanks for the info.

Is it possible to make the AR-10 close to as accurate as the 700? I think longest effective range on a 700 is 800 meters right?

you can run, but you will just die tired...quietly lol

what the fuck are you talking about? 0.o
rammsteinlieber 3 years ago
You could probably change the action in that gun
BelligerentAuthority 3 years ago
but then it wouldnt be as accurate, and it wouldnt be a true remington 700!
rammsteinlieber 3 years ago
remington came out with a model for the 700P that had a detachable mag, but they stopped producing it shortly thereafter

does it lessen recoil? if not, and you're not a professional sniper, then why???
mzahra1 4 years ago
Recoil is a little lower. It was originally set up for shooting on a friends property so we didnt need earplugs, but he moved.
