I love this song. I recorded this episode on a tape recorder back in '68 and it came to mind when my daughter told me she didn't want to get rid of her favorite jeans. I'm so glad I found it on here. What sweet times those were.........
Such as pleasant manner that Donovan plays off the interruption @ 0:13 ! He definitely was a child of his times. Sure wish there was more of that around now. Guess I should follow Gandhi's suggestion and be the change I seek in the world.
The Smothers Brothers joining in on this song is special, but what is also special for me is when the Jimmy Joyce Singers join in at around 2:13. You can faintly hear them, but it's when they say "so comfortably lovely" is when they are more noticeable.
This brings back such wonderful memories! I audiotaped this song from The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour back in 1968 when I was 13, played it endlessly until the tape fell apart perhaps a year later and I hadn't heard it since. Thanks so much for making it available again.

How powerful and earthshaking.
I can so relate.
I mean, wouldn't everyone rather wash their shirt in a stream so they don't have to wait for it to come back from the cleaners?
I love it.
