I'm 20 and black Canadian and I remember I was 13 when i first heard Yellow and before that album I used to listen to mostly pop music and rnb, reggae, soca and calypso not so much rap. But this band expanded my taste for rock music. I used to like a little bit of rock when I was young but was mostly turned off by the Metal. But after getting into Coldplay I went back to listen to some older rock band like BonJovi and singers like Bryan Adams who I also love.

@djsmoke25 I think what attracted me to them at 13 was the fact that his voice is rock but it has soul in it. It's so emotional and genuine and they didn't need to have all the flashy gimmicky or (masturbation guitar solos) that some rock bands just love to put in every damn song lol!!! I think in 2003 there was alot of crap pop music on the radio and hiphop and rnb was making that horrible transition where everything sounded the same!! So Coldplay was so refreshing to listen to!!

I find Viva La Vida a really enjoyable modern sort of album whether it is more comerciallized or not. I saw coldplay live last year and they played a good mix of old and new songs including this and found that the concerts amtmosphere was absolotley electricly amazing. I personally think they still have the touch and also have what it takes to prduce another number one album.

at 3:37-4:05 and 4:34-5:00 it reminds so much of final fantasy VII (I love that game, best game ever made along with ocarina of time). More particularly it reminds me of the scene where they finally managed to escape from shinra and are just standing on the unfinished freeway (I love that image) and are just looking off into the distance wondering what lies for them in the future, its just so beautiful :)
