  • i played an entire football season with my shoulder coming out 3-4 times a game. undergoing therapy and looking forward to a full recovery and next football season. praise the lord for this surgery

  • Douse any one know how much the surgary cost

  • Only you and your surgeon can ultimately decide what is best for you. However, the re-dislocation rate is very very high for patients that have a traumatic dislocation at your age. In some studies the re-dislcation rate is as high as 85%! As a result I often find it best to reconstruct patients shoulders after a first traumatic dislocation before any further damage happens in a subsequent injury that may make surgery results worse. Good luck with it...Don

  • i dislocated my shoulder about a month and a half ago. i got an mri a day ago and i have a torn labrum. i can move my shoulder fine in every position, i was wondering in surgery would be the way to go or just keep doing physical therapy, i just want opinions. im 16 btw and play sports

  • @titansdangler71 just get the surgery because dislocations happen wen a ligament fails to hold the joint. once it comes out you have to deal with repeated dislocations. mine came out i thought i was fine in about 2 weeks comes out 4 more times

  • im in great trouble because i'll need a lot of rest and be away from sports for quiet long. External rotation of my arm is almost impossible as well as the chances of dislocating are much higher. not a good sign and same i am worried that physio would just be a waste of time for me.

  • This is the surgery I will be getting soon...we just don't know the exact date...I am so nervous about it.

  • i have the same surgery about a week ago very painfull and i need a mitella day and night for 6 weeks...but i hope my shoulder is getting stronger now. and it never pops out his socket again.

  • @NeverGiveUpK1 you mean after the surgery the pain is constantly there? is the pain worse than when the shoulder is dislocated? i may need this surgery my left shoulder has gotten dislocated probably near 10 times in the past year-year and a half.

  • @590221010 After the surgery you, have to take it very easy for about 6 weeks. then your pain is gone. but then you got a frozen shoulder and you'll have to train alot. for at least 3 t 6 months. But my pain is already gone and i think its al worth it! so if i where you. just do the surgery;) my shoulder is already alot stronger then it was before!:)

  • @NeverGiveUpK1 what do you mean by frozen shoulder? and thanks so much, at the moment my parents are really unwilling to even consider the surgery but after all alternatives fail they may reconsider

  • @590221010 Frozen shoulder means that your shoulder is stuck and you can barely move it because you are not allowed to move your arm for about six weeks, but the younger you are and if you are in a good shape you'll recover alot faster, i just became 19 and i recovered really quikly. how old are you? and no problem btw ;)

  • @NeverGiveUpK1 oh i see, right now i'm 20 and turning 21 in august. i'm kinda worried mine REALLY damaged though because i didn't know my shoulder was getting dislocated back when it's only happened a few times because i went to see the doctor and told him it might be a shoulder dislocation but he couldn't see anything wrong (this is after its back in place) and just told me to get an xray which showed nothing since it was already back in place.

  • @590221010 i had the same problem. and offcourse its got damaged. thats why you need the surgery! just do it. its all worth it in the end. otherwise your shoulder gets weaker and weaker. because the younger you are. the change of a dislocation is 80 to 90 procent. and after a surgery it is 8 a 10 procent. and because where still young. We recover alot faster then most people. Dont wait to long Just do it;)

  • @590221010 thats exactly what happened 2 me i never knew it was dislocated because it used to go back in by itself (partial dislocation) n arm would look fine in Xray. Now i have had 2 full dislocations and in a great trouble. i got physio next week n hope it goes well. i regret the fact that i never knew what actually happened to my arm until it got worse and worse. And the doctor stills tells me I cant have a surgery until i dislocate it again many times.

  • @hhouns why are you in great trouble? sucks that they couldn't diagnosis it sooner for us because physio therapy might be useless for me

  • @590221010 and back then i didn't know any proper methods of putting my shoulder back in so i used to just bend over and let my arm hang which apparently is REALLY bad for it according to a doctor who posted a vid of him putting a shoulder back in. the last few times i've gotten shoulder dislocated after finding out the proper procedure i didn't use the sling the hospital gave me either because i thought it's fine without it... but now i'm worried that could've damaged it a lot too

  • @590221010 oyeah . and no the pain isn't worse then when it dislocates. you know how that feels THATS LIKE HELL!! butt its also painfull after surgery. butt thank god there are medicines. Goodluck

  • Simply fascinating. I've suffered from atraumatic bilateral MDI for years. Very thin labral tissue and large space between humorous and shoulder socket; no visible tears. Any lateral or pushing/pulling movement with the elbows out cause very sharp pain within the joint, weakness, and an uneasy sensation. Can be debilitating.

Promising to see that there are surgical options available for tightening up the joint. Anyone know what the post surgical recovery rate is for this type of approach?

  • i have an same problem but i am getting any surgery after this

  • that dusnt luk to bad
