  • Any tips on tuning my carburetor on my truck for better fuel efficiency? I know it's possible to get it better gas mileage if I tune it right.

  • just wondering what were the specs on this motor, cubic in, cam, heads, intake, carb, and compression?

  • When that nitrous kicks in the car perks up! Cool vid.

  • All arguments aside I want a carb. I am sick and tired of trying to find out why and which fuckin sensor is trippin. I need to know from someone out there if I can regulate my in-tank pump or if it produces more psi than a regulator can handle. Why have I not heard of anyone doing it?

  • @bootyman234 No a carb reg and regulate an efi fuel pump.. they are hi pressure

  • @Big23DaddyProduction I appreciate the come back sir. I suppose I will just go with a holly red and go ahead with my conversion. My Lincoln is almost 24 years old, at which time I will only need to pass a safety inspection. Check out my vid (Hot rod Lincoln 2.AVI) so you can see my insane Mad Max mobile.

  • @bootyman234 Out of curiosity i tried this. It doesn't work. You need a low pressure - high volume pump. The EFI pump puts out about 40psi. A carb pump like the Holley Blue puts out about 14psi, then it is regulated down to 7psi for the carb. A carb regulator just cant regulate that far down.

  • @MHM4V3R1CK I appreciate your time sir and now I am straight on what I need to do. Best of success with your future projects.

  • @bootyman234 i beleive holcomb sells one to regulate the stock pump i thought i seen one in there catalog

  • actually carbs can provide more power in certain instance. They provide better fuel atomization, however they can be less efficient.

  • @chevyslayer1 It depends on the app. I like injection better but in some cases when inj doesn't provide the proper parts I'll use carb...

  • carbs are proven to make more power at lower rpm and have a more broad power ban. cuel injection wins in gih rpm but not by more than a few horses. why not carb?

  • @ghettosmirnoff So I guess you all build more engines and tune more cars then I do. truth is Fuel injection provides better low end and part throttle driving characteristics. You must view all aspects of the two. The automization of a injector is better especially because it sprays right into the cylinder. Air inlet then becomes the issue on a FI applications. Pro Stock has been testing fuel injection for years and are happy with the results. A draw back on FI is ready made intakes

  • @Big23DaddyProduction i wasnt complaining about your swap. im happy you did. i prefer carb. i love the easy tunability and the cost. i also love to hear the four bbl kick in. my thing is carbs. i have seen a ton of dyno sheets proving a carb to have better low end. thats why i said that.

  • Once agian, why in the hell would you remove fuel injection for a carb, that is just stupid. Unless you are towing that car around to race it at differant elivations, and you need the tuneability, its a wasted mod!!!

  • @dirtyscruggs that's your only personal feeling which you shouldn't force on anyone else. This is a free country still and people are entitled to build their cars the why they want too. Does not Pro Stock tune their cars for all different elevations... Your remarks are stupid..

  • @Big23DaddyProduction sorry dude. I just like fuel injection over carbs I guess.

  • @dirtyscruggs Ignorant statement. Carbs are easier to tune if you know what your doing and will make the same power. Carbs are easier to setup when increasing HP, and the intake charge is cooler. A properly setup carb, you wouldnt know the difference in driveabilty

  • @dirtyscruggs lets be realistic anyone who can afford to build a fox body with over four hundered horse drives the car on a very minimal basis and cares little about fuel efficiency or 4 or 5 dollar a gallon gas its a toy plain and simple all personal preference the facts are that carbs do make more power and are easier to tune and thats a fact

  • Damn I love this car I have a 1993 notch with a carbed 302 hope to one day have it like this beast. Rowdy as fuck!!!

  • car seems louder on exhaust with a carb'd setup, but if the music wasnt playing i could tell...

  • How did y'all take care of the fuel? y'all put a regulator on it and kept the stock electric fuel pump? Or y'all used a mechanical pump?

  • @evilperson86u We redid the fuel system... Also used a magna fuel set-up pump reg ect

  • also i put a 351 out of a bronco in my 89 foxbody and the starter seems like it doesnt line up properly ive been through like 3 starters i have a t-5 tranny what did i do wrong

  • when u convert from efi to carb do u half to change distributors

  • NO music makes better vid. Nice number tho..

  • it would have been so much nicer to hear the car instead of that shit music

  • @390merc65 I couldn't agree more...

  • @390merc65 i couldn't agree more

  • @Big23DaddyProduction

    yall are crazy slipknots AWESOME

  • Although you can gain more power for cheaper with a carb, they get very poor gas mileage, Carb's are for race cars, If you have a daily driver, i would go with efi, for the simple fact that you can get good gas mileage, and still blow the doors off them chevy's : )

  • Obviously the car WAS NOT tuned properly with the EFI, but also, when they switched to carb, IT GAINED AN ELECTRIC WATER PUMP!!! And who knows what else was changed in the process. what intake did they put on with the carb swap? That alone could have been worth a good chunk of the gain, because the 2 piece intake was probably choking that motor to begin with

  • @JameZCody I've been tuning efi since 1988 so there is def not a problem there... and we don't even use chips... And carbs are for those who want them. As this customer wanted.... We could have use a super victor with injectors and did the exact same thing but customer wanted carb...

  • CARB FREAKING RULES AND AT A 1/3 PRICE OF EFI...i cant wait till my 90 fox has my carbed 408 in it!!!

  • I have a 302 with a 650 holley carb. and high rise intake. It really depends on how much you want to spend on your car and how much time you have to put into it. I love this carb swap. The only reason I would ever run efi is to put a turbo on or save gas millage. Carb all the way(: 5 stars.

  • whats the specs on the efi setup and what carb/ intake/ dizzy did u swap to. sure seems like u guys no what u are doing! Im about to be done with my motor currently checkin out who i want to tune it.

  • Yeah SliPknoT.........

  • nice nice iam trying to make my pony carb? whats needed to converted thanks!

  • what is the rear wheel and tire setup on this? 275 50 15 tire ?and what size/offset rim?

  • its cheaper to go with carb set up but whats about power diffrent??

  • Impressive! What is the motor setup? Heads and cam? Stock displacement?
