1st blew the Head gasket at 1:09 Then starts losing power from 1:14 - 1:33 then locks up at 1:35. Lasted a good 1 min 35 sec in red line. Thats not to bad. lol

As someone said earlier the motor "had issues". That noise equals alot of time and money. Much more fun to throw a rod out the front than fix the beast. Timing belt failure with interference valves is a much quicker death.

I don't know where you get your information, perhaps too many movies? A VW Jetta is on par with a Honda Civic, I have friends with both. I suppose you would then say 'they know they will never get German engines performance"? Most domestics are cast iron with push rods, they are meant to be cheap and reliable. There are alternatives, they just aren't the base model (ecotec 2.4).

P.S. They do this kind of stuff to domestic engines when they are FUBAR too. That motor was toast to begin with.

Actually they really don't anymore. The design and technology has increased drastically in the last 20 years for them.

If you warm the engine up, make sure you got coolant, and oil in your engine. You are good to go.
