patton wrote the lyrics to the entire "real thing" album in 2 weeks, after he was sent the music. this mofo is beyond talented. he finally had some influence on later albums. thats why they suffered sales whyes. but he influenced MANY bands that you hear today.

FnM, Mr Bungle, Phantomas (sucks), peeping tom, lovage and prolly a few more include Mr. patton. the guy is a genius.

Yeah bro, sorry for overreacting. I still have to disagree with you, though. I've been listening to FNM since the start. I think grabbing Patton for The Real Thing was the culmination of FNM sticking to their guns. I've seen them live three times, the best time was when I thought they stole the show with their energy from Metallica and G&R. I'm not saying the stuff after The Real Thing was bad... I'm just saying The Real Thing was perfect. Everything after was more Patton than FNM, IMO.
