my friend rolls his own cigarettes with a machine and i smoke newports and i always thought nah ill never get the taste newport has and he gave me one of the menthols that he rolled was just like a newport so im getting a rolling machine probably tommorow there less chemicals and you spend WAYYYY less money and you smoke less cus its ur time your using to roll.
@pestkilla14 I did the same thing, I roll my own, and use to smoke newports too, you will have a slight headache for a couple days, but don't worry, that's the extra chemicals detoxing from your body. I use premier menthol tubes and top regular tobacco, the menthol tobacco was too menthol like for me, good luck!
There are thousands of other unsafe chemicals in name brand cigarettes that shouldn't be injested (rat poison, cyanide, ect...) My suggestion is to roll your own with a tube filling machine. There's no additives in ryo tobacco, its cheaper, and it tastes better.
From my experience all the harmful and addictive materials are in the papers. I smoked the tobacco on its own for months and experienced no addiction or any of these effects.

i found a smoke shop with original cigarettes, but the fsc is BULLSHIT. and needs to be CHANGED, they ruined 5 star cigs, and they're even worse for you. if your drunk or too dumb to not light something with your cig, you shouldnt smoke.

To think that these "fire safe" cigarettes have appeared on the market with the goal of protecting smokers from fires caused by cigarettes, is a ludicrous idea, at best. If they really cared one iota about us, maybe they should consider removing some of the deadly chemicals that they already put into the damn things.

To all those who say it's "Obamacare" that's doing this, I hate to debate but here are some facts:
1. FSC cigarettes are STATE LAWS. This would mean it is your state passing these laws, not federal govt. Also, these laws started in New York in 2003 and many other states, while BUSH wasn't the president.
2. 7 states haven't passed the bill to ban non-FSC cigarettes yet, but they have to as Phillip Morris and R.J.Reynolds only sell FSC cigarettes.
For those looking for non-fsc cigs, go to places like CVS, Rite Aid, and other places that have typically high cigarette prices.
I work at a Rite Aid, and we have a treasure trove of non-FSC cigarettes (because everyone just goes to the gas station across the street for cheaper ones). The one I work at still has some non-FSC marlboro lights and red 100s.
But anyways, everyone I talk to hates the new FSCs. There's this one guy who comes into my Rite Aid and says he's allergic to them.
Roll Your Own or Stuff Your Own is SOOOO much fun and SOOOO thrifty. I recently depleted my hoard of NON-FSC smokes and REFUSE to smoke an FSC. I purchased a complete SYO kit and I am now experimenting with blends, my friends think it so cool, (shrug) and they have ordered their own kits.
I smoke much less as I purposely do not stuff more than 4 smokes a day so my habit has been cut by more than half. Wise up people, we are being charged an arm and a leg for a pack of crap, NEVER AGAIN!
FSC's burn my throat when I exhale. They also taste like like crap. After I buy the last few nonFSC's at CVS I am going to start rolling my own. Even if they tasted good I can't smoke them due to the throat burning. I have been smoking for 25 years and my throat has never burned. Also- after one pack I start to cough. Again, after 25 years of smoking I rarely coughed before a FSC. Maybe it's part of Obama's health plan. Kill us off quickly.

The only non-FSC cigarettes I can find where I live (Ohio) are USA Golds... definitely not my cigarette of choice (I miss my Marlboros)! But I'd rather smoke these than that FSC garbage any day. I am switching to roll my own as of tomorrow morning... these "fire safe" cigarettes are a clear fire hazard, they don't burn smoothly and are always threatening to drop the hot tobacco cherry every time you ash them. They can say there are no chemicals in these cigarettes all they want, but the proof is in our health. They are different. After finding some non fsc cigs, my health went back to normal. You can actually see the EVA melt on the outside paper of the cigarette when it hits one of the bands. When re-lit, the flame that shoots up is this crap igniting! I was driving at night and smelled something burning. What was burning? My car seat cover and the seat of my car! The cherry fell completely off. This alone could have caused my car to catch on fire, caused a major accident, and could have set ME on fire! They need to ban EVA and FSC before it kills us in more ways than just smoking!
I got my first FSC carton of Marlboro Lights 100's in Dec '09 in TN. Immediately, I knew something was way wrong. A friend told me of the FSC and then I saw the FSC on the individual pack. I called Philip Morris and they had a special FSC extension. I asked the woman what they had done to the tobacco. She told me of a special "speed bump technology", but did NOT mention the EVA chemical. She asked what I suggested they could do better. At that time I said, use thinner paper.
I read an article in the Kansas City paper where Sutton from Philip Morris denies they added this chemical to make them Fire Standard Compliant. What they're doing to people is horrible and consumers now have no choice in the matter. Actually, smoking natural tobacco is not nearly as bad, as evidenced by studied made on cigar smokers. The paper in cigarettes was always a bigger issue and it's been made that much worse with the added chemicals in FSC.

Stick to the one man band diggity. I called RJ Reynolds to confirm and its true, they use bands, two of them. Phillip Morris uses 3. The video however is inaccurate. Only Phillip Morris uses Ethylene Vinyl Acetate and its used to glue the paper together, not to slow the process of burning. EVA has been used for years to glue the paper together.

North Carolina just got hit with this. I went and bought the limit of 4 cartons of non FSC winston lights from a "hole in the wall" tobacco shop. The clerk showed me on the sides of each brand's cartons the imprint, "FSC", is on all infected cartons.

Smoking anything isn't good for you but cigarette companies have been adding chemicals to cigarettes for years. Ever wonder how some 100 different brands can taste so drastically different? Ever notice a cigarette, in an ashtray minding its own business, 'flash' like a grain of gunpowder lit off? They use chemicals to prevent 'canoeing' and burn evenly. I live in Ohio. I had to switch from my regular brand, Doral Ultra Light to BASIC ULTRA LIGHT. These have not yet been ruined by the FSC law, witch is total garbage.
Grocery stores and corner shops and some smoke shops still have a few NON FSC smokes left. You have to hunt for them. But damn, they are so worth it. I never realized how good a real marlboro light tasted after finishing a pack of FSC marlboro lights then getting ahold of a NON-FSC pack...There is an enormous difference. The addictive powers of nicotine is such that people just don't give a shit about their long term health or the health of those around them. No one puts out their cigs when I come by at work, and start coughing from it. They just think its funny. So fuck smokers and their health concerns here!
The thing with nicotine poisoning, is; with many people it has no exceptional health symptoms that would alarm them. But in the long run, it gradually brings down the average health of the person, but also effects the genetic health of future generations of the smoker. I mean the children. Like I have an abnormally small chest due to my mother smoking during pregnancy. If I exhale fully, my lungs hit my ribcage and I feel dizzy.

@pestkilla14 I did the same thing, I roll my own, and use to smoke newports too, you will have a slight headache for a couple days, but don't worry, that's the extra chemicals detoxing from your body. I use premier menthol tubes and top regular tobacco, the menthol tobacco was too menthol like for me, good luck!

There are thousands of other unsafe chemicals in name brand cigarettes that shouldn't be injested (rat poison, cyanide, ect...) My suggestion is to roll your own with a tube filling machine. There's no additives in ryo tobacco, its cheaper, and it tastes better.

If you look at the paper when the filter tip is facing you, it's easy to spot these "speed bumps." Make sure that there is a source of light facing you though, or else you might not be able to spot them.

To think that these "fire safe" cigarettes have appeared on the market with the goal of protecting smokers from fires caused by cigarettes, is a ludicrous idea, at best. If they really cared one iota about us, maybe they should consider removing some of the deadly chemicals that they already put into the damn things.

To all those who say it's "Obamacare" that's doing this, I hate to debate but here are some facts:
1. FSC cigarettes are STATE LAWS. This would mean it is your state passing these laws, not federal govt. Also, these laws started in New York in 2003 and many other states, while BUSH wasn't the president.
2. 7 states haven't passed the bill to ban non-FSC cigarettes yet, but they have to as Phillip Morris and R.J.Reynolds only sell FSC cigarettes.

For those looking for non-fsc cigs, go to places like CVS, Rite Aid, and other places that have typically high cigarette prices.
I work at a Rite Aid, and we have a treasure trove of non-FSC cigarettes (because everyone just goes to the gas station across the street for cheaper ones). The one I work at still has some non-FSC marlboro lights and red 100s.
But anyways, everyone I talk to hates the new FSCs. There's this one guy who comes into my Rite Aid and says he's allergic to them.

Roll Your Own or Stuff Your Own is SOOOO much fun and SOOOO thrifty. I recently depleted my hoard of NON-FSC smokes and REFUSE to smoke an FSC. I purchased a complete SYO kit and I am now experimenting with blends, my friends think it so cool, (shrug) and they have ordered their own kits.
I smoke much less as I purposely do not stuff more than 4 smokes a day so my habit has been cut by more than half. Wise up people, we are being charged an arm and a leg for a pack of crap, NEVER AGAIN!

FSC's burn my throat when I exhale. They also taste like like crap. After I buy the last few nonFSC's at CVS I am going to start rolling my own. Even if they tasted good I can't smoke them due to the throat burning. I have been smoking for 25 years and my throat has never burned. Also- after one pack I start to cough. Again, after 25 years of smoking I rarely coughed before a FSC. Maybe it's part of Obama's health plan. Kill us off quickly.

The only non-FSC cigarettes I can find where I live (Ohio) are USA Golds... definitely not my cigarette of choice (I miss my Marlboros)! But I'd rather smoke these than that FSC garbage any day. "Fire Safe" MY ASS! Last night while smoking, a lit portion of paper fell off my cig and burnt into my shirt. I often have a "gummy" residue left in my mouth that makes me want to puke. I've been getting random light headaches that last for a few hours. Smokers should start to boycott. I'm on the verge of saying to hell with Marlboro, and begin rolling my own. I've become disgusted by the thought of smoking another FSC.

They can say there are no chemicals in these cigarettes all they want, but the proof is in our health. They are different. After finding some non fsc cigs, my health went back to normal. You can actually see the EVA melt on the outside paper of the cigarette when it hits one of the bands. When re-lit, the flame that shoots up is this crap igniting! I was driving at night and smelled something burning. What was burning? My car seat cover and the seat of my car! The cherry fell completely off. This alone could have caused my car to catch on fire, caused a major accident, and could have set ME on fire! They need to ban EVA and FSC before it kills us in more ways than just smoking!

I got my first FSC carton of Marlboro Lights 100's in Dec '09 in TN. Immediately, I knew something was way wrong. A friend told me of the FSC and then I saw the FSC on the individual pack. I called Philip Morris and they had a special FSC extension. I asked the woman what they had done to the tobacco. She told me of a special "speed bump technology", but did NOT mention the EVA chemical. She asked what I suggested they could do better. At that time I said, use thinner paper.

What they're doing to people is horrible and consumers now have no choice in the matter. If they can get away with this how long will it be before they start adding poisonous chemicals into other consumer goods? Actually, smoking natural tobacco is not nearly as bad, as evidenced by studied made on cigar smokers. The paper in cigarettes was always a bigger issue and it's been made that much worse with the added chemicals in FSC.

Only Phillip Morris uses Ethylene Vinyl Acetate and its used to glue the paper together, not to slow the process of burning. EVA has been used for years to glue the paper together.

I cannot smoke any regular cigarettes at all without being seriously sick. Everyone that I know that smokes has been twice as sick as they used to be since the new government regulations. Quite simple, folks.. RYO, or "Roll Your Own".. I just purchased a few samples from custom blends (maker of this video), and, as a smoker of Camel/Marlboro for almost 15 years, I am AMAZED at just how different the experience is. I wish I would have done this YEARS ago.. I will never go back to pre-packaged cigarettes!

North Carolina just got hit with this. I went and bought the limit of 4 cartons of non FSC winston lights from a "hole in the wall" tobacco shop. The clerk showed me on the sides of each brand's cartons the imprint, "FSC", is on all infected cartons.
That will last me through December at least

What if 10's or 100's of thousands of smokers quit. Think about it, would legislation change? You bet it would!
Here is how we get back at Big Tobacco:
1. Talk w/ your doctor about options to quit.
2. Have support (friends/family)
3. Know your Triggers.
4. Relaxation/breathing technics.
5. Exercises (within your ability).
YES YOU CAN QUIT but it is not easy. There is a bit of pain in doing so. If you have the will you can and will succeed.

this is absolutely ridiculous. of course the government considers smokers expendable. we're wasting precious health insurance money when we get sick due to smoking. why do we get sick? because of all the chemicals they have in cigarettes as it is. tobacco by itself is as harmless as marijuana. so yeah why not, kill us off. first these fsc cigarettes, now the swine flu vaccine/RFID implant bullshit. research 'RFID implants' on youtube if you havent... pretty scary what this place is coming to.

Smoking anything isn't good for you but cigarette companies have been adding chemicals to cigarettes for years. Ever wonder how some 100 different brands can taste so drastically different? Ever notice a cigarette, in an ashtray minding its own business, 'flash' like a grain of gunpowder lit off? They use chemicals to prevent 'canoeing' and burn evenly. They use freon to expand the tobacco to get them to burn up quick so you smoke more! Maybe be better to just roll your own with real tobacco..

I live in Ohio. I had to switch from my regular brand, Doral Ultra Light to BASIC ULTRA LIGHT. These have not yet been ruined by the FSC law, witch is total garbage.

Grocery stores and corner shops and some smoke shops still have a few NON FSC smokes left. You have to hunt for them. But damn, they are so worth it. I never realized how good a real marlboro light tasted after finishing a pack of FSC marlboro lights then getting ahold of a NON-FSC pack...There is an enormous difference. The thing with nicotine poisoning, is; with many people it has no exceptional health symptoms that would alarm them. But in the long run, it gradually brings down the average health of the person, but also effects the genetic health of future generations of the smoker. I mean the children. Like I have an abnormally small chest due to my mother smoking during pregnancy. If I exhale fully, my lungs hit my ribcage and I feel dizzy.

I just want to thank the tobacco industry though, seriously. I've smoked for 14 years without any problems. I smoked a couple packs of FSC Camels last weekend, and I still feel like I am breathing through a wet rag. Rather I want to quit or not is no longer an issue. I have to quit, because my body simply can't handle FSC. Plus, they taste horrible now. So thanks tobacco industries.

My boyfriend was working out of state( I live in MI) He would go to kentucky and bring me back cigs and I didn't realize why I was sick I thought I had a sinus infection and then someone in KY told my BF about fsc well this was 6 months after i had been smoking them I felt like shit everyday and now MI only sells FSCs so we decided to roll our smokes F the tobacco co and the Gov! we r not ur Guinea PIGS! lets bankrupt stop buying them!

This is exactly what the government wanted -- a way to get their hands on the tobacco industry to either make us all quit by adding their own chemicals or kill us! This is totally outrageous! But we're at fault too (smokers) for keeping low key on issues and not sounding off. We must speak up and be heard. Ironicaly the government chastised Tabacco Industries for adding chemicals to tabacco, then they turn right around and add a NEW chemical that is Hazardous to our Health.
