Yes and very well. But I think its toned down a few keys since he's gotten older, but the song still sounds just as good as it did back in 82, as well as 76.
And I just checked out 3T's version. They sounded like a lame off key lounge act. Chicago is true talent, and I'm sure fans such as myself are tired of seeing your comments on all of these videos. Just leave. please
I can tell, JP5466, you're a fan of the '79 Pineknob show. That's great! I think the 84' Budokan performance is rockin' and of course the Pineknob show.. In both Cetera was excellent, givin' it his all to the microphone!
Quite right....as distasteful as it may be. Of course, Warner Brothers put forth a far better marketing effort on the latter two songs, and the 16 and 17 albums in general, than Columbia ever did for the band's first 15 albums, particularly post-1976. Never discount the great influence that Irving Azoff had on the success of the Warner's-era Chicago....he put together the record deal for 16, when other record companies wanted to take a pass on the band.
Excellent delivery by Peter Cetera vocally and overall by the band. Love this song. It's a classic and I dont care what anyone says, this is a great hit!
I'm sad I was born a year before, I'd never get the chance to see Peter Cetera with Chicago. I stand by the fact that I was just born in the wrong era. Chicago is a different breed of music, they will be remembered and enjoyed for decades to come, unlike the canned garbage qualifing as music today.
Boy, do I adore this song! This is the one that got me into Chicago, hardcore and dedicated. Peter sure has a way with words and with tight white pants. ;)

3T version is more better !!!

Dude 3T will never compare to this group of excellent musicians. Chicago made this song, and Cetera's voice made this song.
And is 'more better,' just proves you are an idiot and that you havent a clue what your talking about.

Great, but not as good as the 1979 Pineknob performance.

Yeah. He blew me away with that breathtaking vocal power in Pineknob!

Does anyone know who was playing bass during this? Was Pinnick playing bass like Cetera and Kath used to switch back in the 70s?

Yes, he was.

Does anybody know if "Chicago" performed "If you leave me now" live on stage ever with wings again?

Much as the band fights it, IYLMN, HTSIS, and Look Away were their three number 1's.

Much as I love Chicago, and believe me, it's a lot, I hate this song. Nothing personal, it's just the way I feel.

Oh well. Won a grammy for song of the year in 1977? Someone liked it.
beatapt5 4 years ago 4
And scored the number one spot on the charts. I guess a lot of people liked it. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
