you can't charge a PSP 3000 when not in USB mode if you have an OFW... but it is possible if you have a CFW.. i believe many psp owners want a longer psp gaming life..so why put up the LEDs??but this time,i want mine like this!!

you have to solder the LEDs to the speakers + to + and - to -. you have to kind of test it tho because i dont know how to distinguish the positive from the negative

To all the people saying you can't charge a PSP with USB: I dunno about the 1000, 2000, or even the GO, but I know you can charge a 3000 with USB without any special modifications or CFW (I know because I have one). Anyone that says otherwise don't know what the fuck they're talking about. That is all.

@Cinj216 the 200 can after the 5.50 ofw update and the 1000 can't unless you solder a wire from the usb connector to the female charger recepter. It's very complicated but it works. Anyways stick to the 3000 if you want usb charging.

@mewwwtew you cant just use a usb 2.0 cable connector! thats only just to extract files into ur ps3 or pc but otherwise, u need a psp adaptor, charge it into a wall or a router-plug-in and simply connect the small yellow part fro the adaptor into ur ps3 for a orange light to show up letting u know that its charging

Actually, it is easy to mod your PSP 1000 (fat) to charge via USB. Just run a single wire and do two solders. Took me about one hour, and most of that was disassembly.

You can find a tutorial easily.

@kaxeon It's pretty simple as far as I've read up about it. Lights reacting with sound is one of the mods beginners go for as a starting project because it's so simple to do. It has a nice effect in the dark though :)

I made mods similar to this. Spent a long time making LED attachments and getting them working; though my ones were touch sensitive. Pressing the buttons made them shine. The sound activation at awesome. Then my PSP was stolen. Good times, good times. Someone got a really cool looking PSP for free. *rolls eyes*
