@ExAnimoRob future garage is probably the most accurate term. It has more roots with 2-step garage than it does with dubstep. Dubstep went in a slightly different direction. Although to be honest, when I organize my music, out of ease, I make all my dubstep/drumstep/dub/2-step/garage/future garage/anything else bass-centric music labelled as "dubstep." Although I do separate out House and DrumNBass. The rest of my electronic music that has no category goes under "Glitch/Trip-Hop"
this is brill! i've recently just got into this type of music, dont wanna be pedantic but does it have a genre or name just so i can attatch something to it? also any suggestions of similar artists? i really like joy o and jacques greene's stuff :)
@meeshymoo2 i dunno, genre's are silly. airhead, jack dixon, klaus, floating points, there's bare good shit out at the moment just have a look around yo
@meeshymoo2 took the words out of my mouth, been loving this whole future/chilled/minimal vibe for about a year now and its only getting bigger and better!
@meeshymoo2 I think it's called Post-Dubstep, or that's what wikipedia says. People like James Blake, Jamie xx, SBTRKT, Airhead are all under that genre i think ;)
@airmagnet27 It's the future of underground dance music. And if that doesn't sit well with you maybe you should stick with the Swedish House Mafia or some other shite that's made for tone-deaf kids. But yeah, amazing picture innit.
i like the term future garage personally

this music isn't from the future if you're listening to it right now... it's the present.

@meeshymoo2 without tryna sound like a pretentious prick, i would class this as future dub. no doubt someone will say otherwise though!

@JohyeahM agreed. I would like to avoid sounding pretentious in saying this but it might be unavoidable. I think this is an evolution of music!
