Just read an article, are you talking about the one in 2008 where 2 teens died in an accident from street racing? If so no, I don't think this one is based on it, this is drunk driving.that one was street racing.

The damage to the guy in the back seat is over exaggerated to the speed that the car was moving. Also considering he was seat belted... The video could of been done a little bit better, but it still is done well enough to show the dangers of driving drunk. Not just drunk either, there are sober people who drive like that and put others lives in danger. I rode in a car once with a sober person who acted a fool while driving, also texting. Never riding in a car they drive again.

the people didn't really die, this is a program but these kids really did go to this high school. the We Remember section is to make it seem like these kids died to the other kids at the high school when they watched it and the kids who participated in the video didn't come to school the next day

Im a teenager and when i saw this i cried. Some people might now think of this but my mom and my brother died in a car crash when i was 6. I saw them die which was the worst thing that had ever happened to me. Sadly it was on christmas day. ); We got hit by teens that were DUI. This is the reason i dont drink & i never will.

To explain the We Remember part:...

25 or so of us were elected to be a part of this program, then 5 of us were elected out of the 25 to participate in the video. We put on the live assembly of the car crash and the 2 days after that the 25 of us were 'dead', therefore we didnt show up to school. This was to impact all our peers, and to show how huge this is

@DUFreeperbuddy Took a few months of planning, but we were donated two cars that were unable to run and we got them delivered into our parking lot while firefighters beat them up like countless of crash scenes they've seen before.

Then on a Thursday morning we were helped with makeup and making us look beat up, and simulated this car crash for our Junior and Senior classes. We never had any training or anything, this is all our natural emotions.

The school saw the video on Friday.

Very well done. Even though I knew it was a depiction I watched the entire video. You are doing a great community service. I work in the medical field. Its easy to depersonalize the victim I would intubate and bag. The hardest part was being at the head of the bed in ER and bagging while a parent begged them to live. Or turning off a ventilator when they were brain dead. I hope these videos make a difference.

As much as this is supposed to be a reality check, I can guarantee you, watching this happen to your friends or even just random classmates is a bigger one. We had 3 deaths from a drunk driving accident a few months ago at my school, and for a whole month the school was just numb. We still haven't completely recovered from what I've seen.

@MrFammey it's not real. it's an act that most high schools do as a reality check for their students. if you noticed, they left the house in a Nissan Maxima, and they were on a street road, but at the crash site they were in an Acura Integra in the high school's parking lot.

high school kids, and even adults don't ever really believe how serious it is when you don't keep your eyes on the road, or also with drunk driving. in this act, they try to make it as real as possible to convey the point..

@MrFammey oh another thing i forgot to point out earlier.. for a few split seconds during the parking lot scene, you see the students sitting in bleachers in the background. and the police officers and Igor have microphones on their shirts for when they're talking. it's a big issue and lots of people think it's not too serious and nothing will happen to them. i've already been in two accidents, but even though i wasn't drinking or anything, it was still pretty scarring, you know what i mean ? :/
