How do you like the SR20DET compared to the KA24DE? I'm looking to get another 240sx and either go SR20DET or RB25DET; just not sure how the driving experience will be on either. The my first KA was 'low' on power, but very responsive.

@XternallyGifted Sr20 Redtop, from 89-94 Silvias, had a T25 turbo. The T28 is from a S15 SR20 Blacktop.

@XternallyGifted Redtop and Blacktop are almost identical motors; major difference being redtop = early S13, blacktop = later S13.

The S14 and S15's have variable cam timing on the intake and T28 turbos (ball-bearing for the S15)

The SR20DET came stock with a T25 turbo, T28's were just a nice replacement, so most people would substitute it for its smaller brother, the T25. Either way, the T28 isn't much bigger stock.

Great video man, but whats up with your shifter? In the video it seemed like when you shifted it was really loose... and very easy to get out of every gear. It almost looked too loose? Maybe its cause i got used to my short shifter but idk???

@Jlizel Yea he can... once you get used to your car it will come natural to you. But in the video it seemed like when he shifted it was so loose... and easy to get outta each gear... almost too loose? Did you notice that? Idk what the deal is there!

@240sxGuy3 a shifter with properly adjusted linkage and a gearbox with not worn down syncros should always be easy to get out of and into gear. It's the stock shifter, so that's why you're seeing the long throw and the bit of looseness. The tranny mounts were replaced with solid mounts so looking back I have no idea where all that movement was coming from. I never noticed it until watching it back on film. If I still had the car I'd inspect further! It felt completely normal while driving

@Dogma323 I was just cruising really, in broad daylight. You can't tell from the video but it's a straight pipe right off the turbo all the way back and it was loud as hell. That and the fuel mixture wasn't 100% set right and I didn't wanna push it that hard with it running a tad lean at the top end
