No, it is true, the Dome on the rock (gold roof) is where the Crusaders killed many who had fled there for safety. Soon after, the Crusaders started the Order of the temple of blah blah (Templars) which was based there, they kept their horses in what they called 'Solomans stables' underneath the (golden) Dome.
