you had to have fins and be experienced to go out that day but if you went a little further down the beach like me and my friends did the waves were a little smaller. They were still huge probably got up to 8ft and it was fun getting owned by them they were actually so strong that the undertow would suck you back in.
cOME CHECK OUT REAL WAVES IN SANTA CRUZ AND NOR CAL FUCK A HUNDRED YARDS IM TALKING 200 YD PLUS RIDES WITH CLEAN GLASSY CONDITIONS.. THIS SHIT IS ALL CLOSE OUT!
OK, so I will give the WEDGE some credit. It was big on those two days-BUT-I did not see one wave actually made. Each guy got pounded. We had smaller, but still 3' overhead, and perfect. I got tons of waves, some went over 100 yards. Next time it's big, come check out N. San Diego County! Peace
Most of the O.C. was closing out. I think surfers are only allowed to go in during morning and late afternoon hours so the only attempts on these waves are from body surfers here. But I think you're right about going somewhere else during big south swells like this, Brooks street here In Laguna was fun, Until I got booted by the pros.

i was tearing it up at corona del mar (other side of the jetty) 10 to 15 footers, they were better cuz you didnt keep getting dumped on by the top.
