  • Thankfully Chris is still around and as strong as ever to do justice to Stevie Marriott's fantastic Small Faces tune. "Hear Steve's children sing...."

  • Yes, still sounding good ; re 2007 !

  • He hasn't changed.

  • Saw this unbelivaby talented guy at the Isle of Wight scooter rally (Aug 2011). He blew the roof off the Ryde ice rink which was packed with 1500 people.

See him if you get the chance. Dont miss out.

    Keep on rockin Chris.

  • He's still got a great voice.

  • Marriott loved him and I see why! Nice tribute to a guy who respected him Immensely!

  • @Aptitude Hi agree with you, but it is sad that when you see all those shows which talk about the 60's etc he's excluded..

  • Saw him at a small local gig in the sixties most of the band hadn,t turned up!! it didn,t matter just him and one guitarist and "Out of Time" it was brilliant.

    "The show must go on"!!!

  • Just come back from seeing this guy and band in Ebbw Vale. Absolutley awesome live.... and he did this number too!!!!!!

  • I used to see Chris a lot doing live gigs in small intimate venues when I lived in Poole, he was and always will be one of my favorites.

  • His looks have improved with age.

  • great artist and performer

  • I would be very grateful for any info regarding make/name of the organ being played on this track, you can just get a glimpse of it occassionaly to the left of window

I think this is a really heart warming version of this song by the superb Norman Beaker band featuring the Grand Daddy of em all CHRIS FARLOWE

  • Chris in Colosseum was incredible..still is, keep rocking Chris!

  • Good old Chris! Ruining good songs since the early 70's

  • steve if u see this rembar our frend john colshaw

  • steve if u see this rembar our frend john colshaw

  • Still have the "Stormy Monday" Album released on a budget label in 1966 (?). (On vinyl).

    All time great vocalist.

& a 1980 interview with Stuart Colman on cassette.

  • Ahhhh lovely

One of the greats. Love his blues

  • Still got it!

  • Thank's for posting this Chris really sounds good on here. great performance.

  • he was really only good in atomic rooster

  • He is older, but still class.

  • Chris does that shirt go on tour with yooo! Ye wore it last night at the Glasgow Concert Hall!! Ye can change a shirt but ye cant change a voice like YOORS!!! Brilliant!! I couldnt believe it! RESPECT xx

  • soon you're old too, watch gonna do then? Sit down and waiting for death to relieve you from your misserable life?

  • Chris still has it! He certainly ain't out of time!

  • Jeez where have I bin... always a fan of this guys voice and music but never ever saw images of him until recently interviewed believing CF was black, Im thinking they must be talking to the wrong person... he even mentioned it during the interview... wow!

    Still LOVE the him though!!!

  • Like a tiger which hasn't been fed for a week.

  • i'd have to disagree with you on that one... i think he's on top form here.. even in front of a sober crowd in the middle of the day..

ignore the sound quality listen to the voice.. his timing is as good as ever, range is fine, great control.

take a look at him doing this song in the german nightclubs also on youtube..

  • agreed he is an icon ,.... but sad poor old chris is out of time .....the best he done and my all time favorite...

  • Hi Steveco, I agree with you.....what i meant was that it seems he rarely gets a mention

when TV documentaries talk about groups....

  • Why is he not amongst the greats....?

  • I reckon he IS amongst the greats. In the sense that he's influenced a lot of today's artists including The Stereophonics who recorded his hit, Handbags And Gladrags.

  • @toffeakim He is! Back in the 60's he was idolised by us Mods! He's 70yrs old now and still can sing with the best of 'em!

  • IMO FC99 he has gr8 sex appeal

  • I remember performance in my town in Poland. That was GREAT!

  • best version by little bob story-a french band i think

  • Chris is fantastic, such soul. If he'd been a pretty boy he would have been massive. Why is the entertainment industry obsessed with image! Sad.

  • yes, "an ageing legend".... but he is SO GREAT live!!! have you ever seen him?

if not - do it! full stop. he plays in a pub near you soon... sad but true. he is SO great!!!

  • all or nothing for me !!!

  • Thanks a great post. An ageing legend who can still do it...we should cherish these moments...

  • wow he's just awesome , what a voice!!

  • When you have talent - boy do you have talent. Chris Farlowe was so under rated - fabulous voice, one of the greats!

  • Yes I agree, Chris is superb, saw him when he was touring with the Manfreds, a great voice, he did a duet with Maggie Bell, brillant.

  • How fantastic this mans voice is.....followed him everywhere in the UK. Come and sing in Spain, Chris..... miss you......

  • Great song great singer too, a pleasure to see, thanks for posting.

  • Far far far out.

  • wow wow wow! hes still got it! Long may he reign.

  • I saw Colloseum at Hanley many years ago - they were doing a song with a very long intro. Someone behind me said something about a good sound. I said 'great band' or something to which he agreed, very amicably. A few minutes later there was a gentle tap on my shoulder. "Excuse me" he said, as he walked through the crowd and climb the starirs to the stage just in time to start singing.

    Cool ;-)

  • This guy is awesome. Wow.

  • i saw chris the voice a couple of years ago and cant wait to see him againg can this guy sing has been denied as one of this countries talents for far to long.keep going chris.

  • Saw chris & norm in Selby last month. What a show. They can show these young pretenders a thing or two. Thanks for posting.

  • To each his own...

  • very sad you feel like this, not a very constructive comment, maybe it was an atempt at humour ? if you're a musician, what else can you do ?

  • the reply was to eenavid

  • I guessed...keep ageism out of music

  • @eenavid Long live the musicians from X CRAPTOR! Hope you agree?

  • WOW ! Grandad still rocks !

  • Can anyone tell me is Chris Farlowe is a Nazi?

  • I know he used to sell wartime memorabelia but that's as much as I know.

  • Chris, You're a Hobbit.

  • chris , you are the very very best . thanks for the music . youre my hero .

  • Still great after all the years, keep it up Chris, the young generation just will never know what they missed

  • Chris Farlow.....YeaH........ I love him...

  • what the fu--

  • Could you expand on that a little?

  • great singer chris, but your no steve marriot leave this to the master

  • Shame the master isn't around anymore...

  • looks as if he was performing in front of a furniture store....god help him

  • I blame the organizers for not providing a decent backdrop to the stage.

  • Sorry you lost it Steveco. If you close your eyes and listen to the quality you will find the backdrop makes no difference. Incidentally, the musicians are the Norman Beaker Band, one of Manchester's finest.

  • hey man i love chris farlowe , i mean i really like his music. im capt.meat the dude of the 60s im an artists of that time , not very well known but this dude inspired the hell out of me , you can hear it in my song called ' ride my pony 'at cdbaby. my favorite is ' ride on baby ' . go chris .

  • cool small faces song i think but best version is by french bandf-little bob story

  • An Immediate artist covering Immediate artists Marriott/Lane ..in 2007. Doesn't get better than this. You go Chris because you still have it!!!

  • Man can this dude growl. Luv it.

  • great voice

  • thats my drum teacher!!! hes immense wooo go steve

  • Amazing how well his voice has lasted - he's 67!!!

I saw him several times with colloseum, including the time they did the song 'The Pirate's dream' , which they quickly dropped as being 'too complicated'. It is an amazingly difficult piece requiring Chris's full vocal range and even at 60+ he was incredible! Great to see him still going strong...

  • Me too saw them in 1972 at Royal Albert Hall...Chris was and still is GREAT!! And a fond memory for Dick Heckstall Smith we miss you!!

  • Saw Chris performing this very number last night with Clem Clemson & The Hamburg Blues Band, in Berlin! Great stuff.

  • Nice steveco, I love PP Arnold to death! Always been fascinated by her career and her connection with The Small Faces.

  • goosebumps on the back of the neck stuff, thanks steveco. allways loved farlowe but only from what i'd heard on the Immediate Record compilations that my parents had. check out PP Arnold for more soul stirring vocals.

  • I had the good fortune to see PP Arnold perform on stage last May - backing Roger Waters at Birmingham NEC.

  • I remember seeing him do "Out Of Time" on TV as a duet with Mick Jagger. Despite being very nervous Farlowe blew him off the stage! Anyone seen that clip around anywhere?

  • He was and is great.

  • I was there last Sunday, he was a legend !

  • He should do Glastonbury

  • WHERE WAS HE PLAYING ON THIS VIDEO??

  • He was playing in Darlington Market Square, County Durham, UK

  • I am such a big fan of Chris. He always entertains and makes me smile. Where have all the big intelligent larger than life characters these days??

  • Where was he playing on this video??
