Though we have had several faithless electors in past elections (2000 and 2004 were the most recent elections where an electorate voted for someone that they were not pledged)only once did it actually effect the outcome. In 1836, all of VA's 23 electors refused to vote for Richard M. Johnson causing the election to go to the Senate. The senate did vote Johnson making him VP.
i wrote in "Ron Paul". I feel so disappointed that he didn't ditch the GOP after they chose Mccain. Guess they were too scared of his "Radicalism". But Ron Paul would've kicked Obama's a** and made everyone see through his lies and deceptions. I just didn't have the heart to vote for the "lesser evil" as tweedledee and tweedledum are nothing more than puppets in a very corrupt duopoly.
Yeah I would have to agree with that. George Washington had a six grade education and most of the people at the time that this system was invented had even less then him. I dont think that its right that we still follow a way of casting votes that was established over 200 years ago just because our fouding fathers did it. The argument that the canidates would only come to states that have large populations is somewhat stupid. So what if they do. Raise your hand if you have met any of them.
It's not that I don't see it,My point is that our only option was one of the two available...How can you say that there is ANY OTHER OPTION?.That was my point..That was how Bush STOLE the election 8 years ago..All I was saying is that McCain seemed scarier seeing as had already been questioned by the UN for taking part in what alot of people considered to be genocide right here in the United States, With American Indians..Considering the laws in place today..I am sooo happy we have Obama instead
