I really don't understand why so many blame the LDS church for their weaknessess and hard lives and the fact that they didn't have a relationship with Christ. It is up to us to do those things.
It amazes me how people can leave the LDS church and all they want to do is criticize it. They spend more time cutting down the church than talking about Christ.
@LDStothecore It's a vicious, inaccurate, slanderous personal attack to say he spends more time "cutting down the [Mormon] church] than talking about Christ." You don't know this man's personal life. You don't know how he lives life in his own church community. And for goodness sake, this is a testimony of his coming out of Mormonism into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Of course he's going to make the contrast.
So stop the personal attacks and focus on substantive issues, OK?
@aaronshaf2006 Just an observation. I have seen many anti-Mormons and they all do the same thing. The cut others' beliefs down and rarely talk about Jesus Christ. This is what I see and you anti-Mormons need to start living the religion you profess.
@LDStothecore To use Mormon language, this accusation is an "old chestnut" that is simply... no offense... parroted over and over, almost phrase for phrase. I also take it as an evidence of selective listening.
@aaronshaf2006 I have been LDS for a long time and have never heard "old chestnut" before. Don't know what that means. You completely wrong. You obviously have an axe to grind. You need to humble yourself.
This gentleman appears genuine, yet he seemed like a boat without a rudder. Most important, if he feels he has found what he needed for his life, that's great, it takes nothing away from The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day-Saints. I guess I could be curious, why someone felt the need to try and build-up their ministry at the expense of the LDS Church, by making this video. What's the point? Anyway, continued success and happiness.
When a person is born again he is a new creation the old has passed away, he will live a godly life. a regenerate person will start to live a godly life.
God does not allow people into heaven (or condemn them to hell) based simply on an academic "belief" of the "correct" doctrines. In fact, I would say that if you know the correct doctrines, but don't live them ... you will be far worse off than a person that believes in incorrect doctrines and yet still lives a good life.
If you know Jesus as Lord and Saviour if you are born again truly by spirit of God, you will live them. If it is a case of just knowing doctrine, then the devil is saved. unfortunately yes hell is real but no-one has to go there, those who are born again don;'t.
A Church never saved anyone. The true Christian Church is made up of believers, who have trusted Christ as Lord and Saviour, it is not a system. A Religious Church never went to the cross to pay the price for the sins of the world.

In fact, I would say that if you know the correct doctrines, but don't live them ... you would be far worse off than a person that believes in incorrect doctrines and yet still lives a good life.
The church is nothing more or less than every human who has ever trusted in Christ. The Bible says,"Let God be true, and every man a liar". Don't worship the church, worship God
This is what Paul was trying to teach to those who thought they were saving themselves. No, its only by grace that you are saved. Yes, you still must repent, yes you must strive to keep the commandments, but its only through Christ that we can be forgiven of our sins and return to God.
The grace of God is for the penitent, the broken hearted, the repentant. They want to serve God, to follow Him and keep His commandments but they know they have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God. God so loved the world that He sent His Son to pay for the sins of the world that those who love Him might turn from their sins and still be saved inspite of their past sins.
If I am an adulterer, a thief, a liar etc. the grace of God is there for me to be forgiven of my sins, if I repent and turn from them. If I love sin and refuse to give these sins up, I dont know Him and will never be forgiven. Christians are right when they say we are saved by grace, but as John says, if they say they know Christ and yet walk in darkness, they are liars and do not the truth. To receive the Grace of God, we must walk in the light. 1 John 1:6-7
Mormonism was created to be a slang word towards the Later Day Saints because of the Book Of Mormon the church are not Called Mormons, They are called the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Later Day Saints. Church, What I am getting to is everyone who teaches of Jesus Christ is of Christian Faith no matter how they teach there gospel. There is No such thing as Mormonism Also.
what is your definition of a christian, anybody feel free to message me about this question, and the title, out of mormonism and into jesus christ? our name is the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, how could we not be christian?
As Christians we believe that we are saved by grace not by works. We also believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and that He is the son of God. The trinity is one God in 3 forms- Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. This isn't 3 diff. gods that make up one. Its one God in 3 forms. The Jesus Christ that Christians follow differ from the Jesus that mormons believe in.
yeah, mormons believe that they are three separate beings that make up the trinity. This is because Joseph Smith saw God the Father AND Jesus the Christ. sounds kinda like Stephen in the book of Acts. Acts 7:55-56 "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God."
I have a interesting Question and Comment. The Church is called Church Of Jesus CHRIST Of Later day saints right. So isn't the church, a Christian Church since they believe in Christ? Hint the name Jesus Christ. So he isn't really getting out of Mormonism? I think its kinda funny.
i think it's kinda funny...that the His is in the name of the church. and i don't know if you care but, it's "Latter-day Saints". anyhow, one of the very few similarities between mormonism and the rest of christianity is the belief of jesus. but even that is so different. ask a mormon about jesus and ask a christian...better yet, ask twenty of each! you will see a difference.
I am mormon, and we believe that Jesus died for our sins. If this guy was really mormon, he should have known that. He obvioulsy wasn't listening or comprehending anything when he was at church. That statement is in a lot of our belief. I don't believe that this guy really got the chance to learn. Maybe he should have read the scriptures including the bible while he went to church and he would have received his answers.
Article of Faith 8 "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly, we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." This is what LDS people believe. The bible is used just as much in our scripture study. Mormons also believe in eternal life, so I believe James Dorrough still had some learning to do. I have been a member for 19 years and I feel like I learn something new each day. The gospel of the LDS church is true, and I bear testimony of that.
I really don't understand why so many blame the LDS church for their weaknessess and hard lives and the fact that they didn't have a relationship with Christ. It is up to us to do those things.
