  • Yeah they poop a lot. I always get a newspaper when ever I take them out and lay let them run around inside.

Also, another IMPORTANT NOTE. Do not let your chicks out without supervision especially in the outdoors. It is often good to let them play around outside BUT be warned of CATS! They can eat them!

All my baby chicks went missing because of the stray cats around my neighbourhood! T_T

  • Chicks are HOOOOOOOOT!

  • @ 1:04 Chicken: Frank? Talk to me frank! :( lolz

  • aww i wanna hatch some anyone want some chickens?

  • I can't wait to get chicks! =)

  • @bunniboo1414 Ameraucanas are usually more of a blue. An 'Easter-egger' may lay a green egg.

  • chicks are fun to raise =) i got 3 like 7-8 months ago now they are big :D

  • lolz at 1:04 the chicks like: "WTF is that?!"

  • My family is strongly considering getting some chicks, so thanks for the video!

  • here is another tip for first time chick buyers. DO NOT buy chicks from tractor supply, because many people come in and touch the chicks and can spread nasty diseases to them. buy them from a hatchery.

  • amazing video.. thanks i care my baby chick! <3; i got it yesterday by my neighbored! <3.

P.S. my baby chick is annoying cuz she/he keepin her/his sound. why he/she do tht??

  • Thanks for that info. If you have any more, please let me know.

My husband is getting some baby chicks next weekend, four females. They will be 2 weeks old by the time we get them.

  • do u know what breed of egg laying chicken is the least loud or not very loud?

  • I don't know which breed is the quietest, but generally the bantam (smaller size) breeds are quieter than the full-size breeds.

  • so what do you do when the chicks grow up?

  • There is lots of info about caring for your chickens at keepingchickensnewsletter com

  • you make fried chicken! haha just kidding!

  • if it does grow up ill go to a farm and trade the adult for a baby :)

  • you know if you do they'll kill your chicken?

  • i plan on living a self sufficient life when im older.

  • man i want some fried chicken mmmmm...

  • TO coolcatjojo, THEY CAN GET A CHILL AND DIE WHEN YOU MOVE IT SO KEEP IT IN ONE HOUSE!

  • my friend and I wanted to pool our money and order one chick together. We were then going to switch back and forth every other month and keep logs and reocrds on it's growth, how much it's eating and so on. Does anyone think this plan could, in any way, endanger or upest the chick. If so tell us and we won't do it.

  • The guy who commented above you(taylorswiftrox59) said this

TO coolcatjojo, THEY CAN GET A CHILL AND DIE WHEN YOU MOVE IT SO KEEP IT IN ONE HOUSE!

Since I doubt you got the mesage ill send you a reply. This happend to me beofre when i left the chicks in my room and carlessly turned on the AC resulting in the death of one of the chicks.

  • your 'chick' won't be a 'chick' for long. they grow fast and you will be moving a chicken back and forth before you know it.

  • I thik this video was very informative and gave correct info to those wishing to rais chickens. The only thing i want to add is that you make sure that you keep the brooder away from open windows or anything that may cause a draft on the chicks.

  • When I was in grade 1 my teacher brought in a dozen or so eggs and we watched them hatch in an incubator. It was really cool and we got to watch them grow. Ever since I've wanted a group of my own. I love this information - Thank you!

  • I love baby chickens and I also love the anatomy and growth of a bird egg

  • Thanks for posting this, just a added note... a medicated feed with coccidiostat is not necessary if you have your chicks vaccinated for coccidia at the hatchery, in fact medicated feed will negate this new vaccine. Just thought I'd toss that in (">

  • Do the birds, or eggs, still qualify as organic if you vaccinate?

  • Vaccinations are in compliance with the NOP/USDA organic standards. You should verify with your certifying agency before having your chicks vaccinated.

  • Nice video! That's a lot of chicks at once!

  • great very informative and fun! ill be referring back when i start and get the chucks for the first time thx Gina
