Most parts of the country do not have reliable public transportation systems, and most people must drive to go to work. Bikes and segways can help, but not in bad weather.

Around here the gas is already $4 a gallon, but just two blocks down and you'll find gas at about $3.58. That's about a ten dollar save for my sister for every two weeks. I don't drive due to the insurance and gas prices going up the roof so now I just car pool with other people. It's cheaper since we all pitch in for the gas money. Keep in mind South Florida isn't NY, everything is miles away from each other. All the cool stuff happens in Ft Lauderdale, so it's a long drive from Miami.
