  • If you pause it at exactly 0:03 when Millhouse has that really weird open mouthed face then you can see that it says 1999! at least I can :D

  • Vintage...

    1990...

Does that make me vintage too? D:

  • I WASN'T ALIVE WHEN THIS WAS MADE :(

  • The mouth movements are really weird.

  • sup tit

  • Sup Reddit?

  • @TitaniumShovel shut the fuck up

  • look at that guy beside bart about 6 meters from him

  • Funny that the tape started with the end of an LA Gear advertisement. My tapes from that era are full of LA Gear ads as well.

  • and so is the birth of the not meme.

  • I remember this commercial on the way back when. That was in 1990. I was very young.

  • ERROR:

THE COMMERCIAL IS 1988, INSTEAD OF 1990

  • @recmemory woot!

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THE ONLY ONE I DON'T HAVE ANYMORE AND HASN'T BEEN ON A DVD LIKE THE OTHERS, NOT SURE WHY.

  • what was the commercial before that does anybody know?

  • according to the recent DVD commentaries, this was actualy the first appeance of milhouse.

  • was this commercial made in the very early 90s does anybody know?

  • I remember this ad. I was wondering if anyone else did

  • YA! There is SO a butterfinger food group

  • @sygo7g Simpsons didn't even begin until Dec 1989.

  • @sygo7g Bottom of the frame at 0:03 seems to read 1988, for whatever that's worth.

  • ...epic

  • LA Gear lol

  • @sygo7g - Possible...however, the source tape was a show from Sep. 1990, which I what I was going by.

  • @WhatsAYak Too bad you can't read the date but I believe 1990 to be right as well. Considering the first episode aired in Dec 1989. I'm sure Nestle didn't sponser them until they were big, they would't bother while they were only on the Tracey Ullman Show.

  • @c857553 - Yeah, you're probably right...I don't remember seeing the BF ads until after the series started, myself.

  • @WhatsAYak - according to a commentary track on the 13th season DVD the character Milhouse was on a butterfinger commercial before the show even started! It appears that the Butterfinger ads were done before the Simpsons first episode.

  • @TheKjbleu That's what I was trying to say as well, I do remember at least seeing this ad a few months before the show debuted, at that time, most of us would've knew Bart at least from the Tracey Ullman shorts, so Milhouse practically made his debut in this very commercial!

  • Thanks for the post. Cool to see millhouse's first appearance
