that's pretty sweet, I have a question I know there's a tutorial how to composite live action footage with blender files....but I was wondering if blender is compatible with Apple motion or Shake 4 to do this compositions or can I edit animated (blender) footage on final cut pro. In few words blender is compatible with final cut studio?
-can somebody tell me how he made this video? - he maded is with Blender yes?
did he use: import of export? or open?
i cant import videos, why? i press: import: then : lightwave motion, than i go to my videos and import a video I made with my mobile, but he dont import it, whY? how? can somebody please help me with making a video like this? - Thank you. ;)
I'm impressed. I at least have a clue as to how hard this was to pull off. I admire the manual tracking- That's true artistry! I didn't really spot any flaws until I watched it again. I also like the way the ship veers slightly upward just at the end there. Frankly I sort of left Blender for GIMP only because it was pretty hard, and my first love has always been 2D animation (see my page here on youtube- There's some 2D and a little 3D) I'd like to use a little 3D in my 2D, like Futurama does.
nice job! I rele want to learn how to actually do stuff in blender3d and it would be even cooler to composite using after effects and such...would you be able to do a tutorial on this for blender or anything else? nice job once again.
I tried to make the sky transparent by using matte keying (composite nodes). It was not easy because the automatic color/contrast correction of the camera adjusted the colors when the trees came into view and suddenly the whole sky turned nearly white. so first, I filtered the part of the video where the sky is blue and then adjusted the parameters and did the next part and so on. Look for a tutorial on "matte keying" and try it out with a relatively simple image first, NOT with a video!)
Hmm. The motion tracking is a bit off, but you say you did it manually. Ouch, that's hard. I recommend downloading the old free version of Icarus and finding out how to import its scripts into Blender, or Voodoo Camera Tracker, which supports Blender natively. Both are free.
I don't think that a space-ship would have such big jet engines, which would only work during atmospheric flight, and would be much slower than ion engines.

Does this use camera tracking, or did you manually rotate the ship to correspond to the camera angle?

i should just respond with RTFM^^ but anyway...
1. read a manual about the "blender sequencer" (google that)
2. do a tutorial, a simple one, with the sequencer
3. google for "voodoo camera tracker" it will help tracking
4. Warning: it won't be easy at first, blender has a really steep learning curve.. not like windows movie maker and other software
good luck!

@qwequ777 you should have answered with a huge WTF and then the RTFM.

well it's just a CG test and my first attempt to combine a real scene with a CG one (manual motion tracking)
