1000 Lumens sucks &

13,000 :1 contrast .. NOPE NOT POSSIBLE ! once the light hits the wall or the screen , the bright pixels CANNOT be 13,000 times brighter than the black area right next to it , this is why projector screens are not smooth ( they need to try and keep the whites away from the blacks by making it rough but it cant work up 13,000:1) ...

on a side note ... I AM POSITIVE MY DLP projector can handle nights of heavy fog and smoke but can LCD handle the moisture ?

Do a projector give just as good picture as a regular HD TV? Here in sweden we have a B.S License for owning a TV wich I don´t want to pay for. I want a projector to play games and watch Blu-Ray movies.

@Nefus1988 Hey Nefus...I think it about the same as long as you have the HD channels. I love mine had it about a month...No this model I have the HD20 by optoma currently at 100 inches, home is to small to go upto 300 inches...But it can do that also.

Hmmm, 2000 hours = 83 and 1/3 days straight. So in essence, if you left it on for 5 hours a day, you would need to replace the bulb in 1 year's time. Not horrible, but still.

@sarge727 Yeah that gets expensive, Only thing projectors are good for, is large classrooms, and business presentations, not average consumers, when the the bulbs cost more, then the electricity to run an average LED backed LCD for the same amount of time.

hey,mmmm .ok ..i have a bit of a problem with my gaming pc's performance...it started happening about a week ago, when every time i start up one of my games,whether it be farcry2,grid,lfd, or mirrors edge,the game runs EXTREMELY laggy...idk wats wrong??? before it started happening, my games were running VERY smooth at high frames so i know its not my system hardware...i ran the disk cleanup,defragment,virus scans...my computer runs good in general but my games dont for some reason please help!!

It's now always a driver problem, sometimes you can do all the driver updates you want, but it will not fix a GPU going bad, or other parts of the card failing. I had an old Voodoo Banshee PCI card a few years ago catch on fire, and do you think a driver would have fixxed that?? Trust me i am no noob, been working on computers sense 1983, when i was 2.

LCD does last longer, unless you get a bad one, and it starts getting dead pixels, but i would take a nice LCD any day of the week over a projector, for my home setup, now if i was doing professional presentation work, like power point stuff, i would get a nice projector, other then that nope, LCD all the way.
