  • Despite this part being heavily involved in ym childhood, I still can't understand how the stampede run down a sheer cliff...

  • 2:02 - 2:25 gives me straight goosebumps every time I had heard it then as a child and even now!

  • @88Moviemaniac So it does indeed. Every.Single.Time.

  • Come to find out, Hans Zimmer directed the soundtrack for my favourite movie. My life will never be the same.

  • "Long live the king".

  • I love Hans Zimmer. <3 "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron" was the amazing soundtrack that introduced me to his music, though I really like this selection from TLK. He hasn't done anything -quite- like this since. So dramatic and wild.

  • I have seen this movie more then a 100 times, still not bored...

I watched Hannah Montana 2 minutes and I was like... WTF? What's the point??

  • 2:32 you can really hear it hans zimmer.. its just his sound ..idk

  • @schalala321 I know! It totally reminded me of Inception (Dream is collapsing) until about 2:42. Only Zimmer writes quite like that, you know what I mean?

  • @TopCranialite

yes totaly :D i love hans zimmer, hes just great. and i really was dissapointed that he didn't get an osacar for inception. inception music makes just everything epic. no matter what!

  • EXCELLENT MUSIC...

  • damn hyenas....>.<

  • I still can't believe it's all hand drawn... and hans zimmer is the best composer alive.

  • @APPLESAUCE50 I agree 100%. Although, to me, Hans Zimmer AND James Horner, are the best composers alive. :)

  • play this song while playing halo reach

  • completely out of sync but good music lol

  • @iluvrock92 The version from the original score and from the movie have different timings.

  • fuck scar

  • I HATE THIS PART ..:(

  • How many years would it take to draw this cartoon?

  • @Borisyoch

I remember seeing a making of of the Lion King, where they were bragging about the amazing computer technology they used to make the stampede...

  • @Borisyoch it took four years to complete the lion king : )

  • @animallover0275

I have no single doubt in this

  • Hans Zimmer = Epic

    Lion King

    Pirates 2 & 3

    The Rock

    The Last Samurai

    King Arthur

    Batman Begins

    Batman: The Dark Knight

    Crimson Tide

  • From 2:04 to 2:18 this choral progression is somewhere else. Does anybody know what other movie this small segment appears in?? It's driving me crazy!

  • @domenator1229 Yeah, that part sounds very familiar to me too. Hopefully someone can tell us the answer

  • @domenator1229 look up Mozart - Lacrimosa

  • The first song, the stampede one is a little off. But fucking amamzing anyways, this movie showed everything, everything is a subjective word, but this movie was by far better then any other shit Disney shows nowa' days

  • still my favourite movie! I'm an artist myself and I really love disney's style, altough the real disney was already dead.... my favourite drawing artists are walt disney and mc escher.

  • i looked this movie when i was young :)

  • Gosh....i could never watch this scene as a kid!

  • by far one of disney's most beautiful movies.

  • Lion king is just one of those movies that other people my age would laugh at one for liking it, but what they don't see is how much feeling is packed into it. I personally enjoy this movie, even if it was by disney and was created for younger kids. My opinion is that this movie is great, and I'm okay with people saying otherwise.

  • @musicmistress17 Age doesn't tell what you like. Cartoon movie isn't necessarily a movie for young childs. Usually movies like Toy Story, Robots and other animated movies have a lot of good humor in them and some parts of it are stuff that the children don't even understand. I am 17 years old and I believe that I'll go check Toy Story 3 when it comes out regardless of my age. Sometimes cartoons are just way better than anything. Spongebob Squarepands FTW!

  • @musicmistress17 "even if it was by disney". Don't think like that. Pirates of the Caribbean is from Disney and the Prince of Persia will be too => Disney isn't just donald duck, mickey mouse and small-kid-cartoon stuff.

and I Typoed Spongebob Squarepants at the previous one :P

  • @MrHeavyhair My point is that most people in my school think that if it's by disney, it's not good. I like a lot of movies from Disney. The reason they wouldn't really like the movie was because they were probably interested in it at a younger age. Because they were, all of a sudden it's for younger kids. I'm not saying it necessarliy IS. And I really want to see Prince of Persia. That looks like a good movie (ancient greek mythology fan).

  • @musicmistress17 All the dudes at your school that think that disney sucks are just way too prejudiced. Don't look at the makers, look at the movie itself. I don't divide movies to "Kids movies" and "big boy's movies" and neither should they. They should watch the movie and then criticise it. Just wait for them to grow up and see if they start to think things like this with a larger scope. Ofc there's also the personal opinions involved and none can fight about who's opinion is the correct one.

  • younger kids? how old are you?

  • @musicmistress17 You sound like a middle schooler. Only kids at that age are not only corrupted by Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber, (amoung other tasteless things), but think they are far too cool for the things their grew up with. Wait til you hit highschool and college, and you'll learn to appreciate your childhood memories more.

  • @efron Exuse me, but I happened to be 13. I didn't know that. I do appreciate my childhood memories.

  • @musicmistress17 I´m 12 and I now that!

  • @efron Oh and another thing: I'm very much different from most jkids at my school. I listen to nothing but orchestrated movie scores. I see differently from most and I hate justin beiber and hannah montana. I lost my judgement of people who are "hot" and "not hot" so it leaves me to seeing them for their personalities. Sure I have SOMe taste for that but I can never like anyone just for how they look. Which is why I don't like anyone.

  • this part of the film made me cry when i was 5/6 and it still does over 10 years later! its all coz of the music. what a great soundtrack and composer!

  • 3:16 is when Mufasa falls? 3:07 is when Mufasa roars cause scar claws him.

  • @MrsLynDizzy

    Yes it is.

  • Long... live... the king!

  • Eveytime I watch this I'm like "RUN Simba Run!" then Mufasa dies and I just start crying.

  • john williams was older movies king, now new generation - zimmers :)

  • scar was such an asshole

  • 2:20 have to cry. Not just because of the tragedy but particularly because it's so moving seing Mufasa fight for Simba's life with all his power...

  • mannn 2:03 I got goose bumps on my whole body!

  • FREAKING INTENSE

  • *schnief*

  • da muss ich immer weinen...

  • Gostei... =)

  • Hans Zimmer

    The Music King

  • to die for.........

  • This was one of my favourite track in whole soundtrack!

  • Hans Zimmer is the best

  • This moment is so sad, but very beautiful ! Congratulation to Hanz, from France !

  • my father knows the one who designed the lion with the black hairs.

  • Scar? That's really cool! (I want to become character designer...)

  • Yes i think his name is deja. My father was in his class in school. So he mets him sometimes.

  • Ooooh, say hello to him! Greezes from Germany! :D

  • disny is finished

  • why can't disney make quality movies like this anymore.

  • old time, now everything is bad :\

  • Because its all hannah fucking montana shit now

  • @ScrillaVilla1 Do you realise that on every classic disney movie on youtube Hanna Montana is getting dissed, if my parents didnt show me disney movies i wouldnt know them - dont blame disney, blame the parents who dont show their kids them.

My 10 year old sister loves hanna montana and such but i still made sure she got to see the classics, because they are CLASSICS!

  • because the charisma travelled to japan to ghibli studios ; )

  • I think this scene will stick with me well into adulthood. I don't think age will ever change how I feel about this part.

  • Jerry (played by Jack Black) - "It is such a good movie too. I cry....everytime, you know when the father dies". Deli Guy (who overheard conversation, comments unexpectedly) - "Oh man, I love the Lion King too, that's my favorite picture man". I didn't know adults felt this way for real.

  • Thank goodness for old disney, which introduced children to beautiful and emotional music at a young age. =] =]

When I have children they will definitely know the oldies! XD

  • great comment!

  • I used to watch this movie over and over until the tape was to damaged, it couldn't be played anymore.

Now I'm 21 and I still get teary-eyed over this part. xD

  • SKAZA SUCK ! :D

  • Hans Zimmer ist ein wahrer Hochmeister der Musik!

  • Seiner Musik wegen werde ich den Film noch meinen Enkeln zeigen.

  • so 'ne gnu-stampede ist echt gefährlich, auch im echten leben

  • i cry everytime i watch this or at least get tearie eyed

  • That was still as emotional as i remember it :( I used to watch this film over and over again and I'd cry everytime. And from the looks of it so did everyone else. Although, who could blame us :P

  • I remember when I was young and when I watched this movie... I cried

    I was like WHY???

Now I'm an adult and I always watch this part with tears in my eyes :) I just can't control it

  • wow. I remember when I was 6 sitting at the end of my mums bed crying my eyes out when Simba's dad dyed. lol good times :D

  • *died

  • exactly at this moment "2:20" I GIVE MY LIFE asuring some japanese people were in charge of the animation.. simply the BEST Disney Movie... with the years Disney never made another good film... if you want flms like this one shall check for studio ghibli totoro-princess mononoke-kiki DS-hauru mov castle-chihiro etc
