I love Hans Zimmer. <3 "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron" was the amazing soundtrack that introduced me to his music, though I really like this selection from TLK. He hasn't done anything -quite- like this since. So dramatic and wild.
@schalala321 I know! It totally reminded me of Inception (Dream is collapsing) until about 2:42. Only Zimmer writes quite like that, you know what I mean?
yes totaly :D i love hans zimmer, hes just great. and i really was dissapointed that he didn't get an osacar for inception. inception music makes just everything epic. no matter what!
From 2:04 to 2:18 this choral progression is somewhere else. Does anybody know what other movie this small segment appears in?? It's driving me crazy!
Although I am not a big-wig respected film critic or a die-hard film watcher, I of course have seen my fair share of dramatic films. This scene though, or more specifically, where Simba walks up to Mufasa and finds out he's dead, is the only moment in a film ever in which I cried.
The Lion King, as I see it, is the pinaccle of all animated Disney films.
The first song, the stampede one is a little off. But fucking amamzing anyways, this movie showed everything, everything is a subjective word, but this movie was by far better then any other shit Disney shows nowa' days
still my favourite movie! I'm an artist myself and I really love disney's style, altough the real disney was already dead.... my favourite drawing artists are walt disney and mc escher.
Lion king is just one of those movies that other people my age would laugh at one for liking it, but what they don't see is how much feeling is packed into it. I personally enjoy this movie, even if it was by disney and was created for younger kids. My opinion is that this movie is great, and I'm okay with people saying otherwise.
@musicmistress17 Age doesn't tell what you like. Cartoon movie isn't necessarily a movie for young childs. Usually movies like Toy Story, Robots and other animated movies have a lot of good humor in them and some parts of it are stuff that the children don't even understand. I am 17 years old and I believe that I'll go check Toy Story 3 when it comes out regardless of my age. Sometimes cartoons are just way better than anything. Spongebob Squarepands FTW!
@musicmistress17 "even if it was by disney". Don't think like that. Pirates of the Caribbean is from Disney and the Prince of Persia will be too => Disney isn't just donald duck, mickey mouse and small-kid-cartoon stuff.
and I Typoed Spongebob Squarepants at the previous one :P
@MrHeavyhair My point is that most people in my school think that if it's by disney, it's not good. I like a lot of movies from Disney. The reason they wouldn't really like the movie was because they were probably interested in it at a younger age. Because they were, all of a sudden it's for younger kids. I'm not saying it necessarliy IS. And I really want to see Prince of Persia. That looks like a good movie (ancient greek mythology fan).
@musicmistress17 All the dudes at your school that think that disney sucks are just way too prejudiced. Don't look at the makers, look at the movie itself. I don't divide movies to "Kids movies" and "big boy's movies" and neither should they. They should watch the movie and then criticise it. Just wait for them to grow up and see if they start to think things like this with a larger scope. Ofc there's also the personal opinions involved and none can fight about who's opinion is the correct one.
@musicmistress17 You sound like a middle schooler. Only kids at that age are not only corrupted by Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber, (amoung other tasteless things), but think they are far too cool for the things their grew up with. Wait til you hit highschool and college, and you'll learn to appreciate your childhood memories more.
@efron Oh and another thing: I'm very much different from most jkids at my school. I listen to nothing but orchestrated movie scores. I see differently from most and I hate justin beiber and hannah montana. I lost my judgement of people who are "hot" and "not hot" so it leaves me to seeing them for their personalities. Sure I have SOMe taste for that but I can never like anyone just for how they look. Which is why I don't like anyone.
this part of the film made me cry when i was 5/6 and it still does over 10 years later! its all coz of the music. what a great soundtrack and composer!
@ScrillaVilla1 Do you realise that on every classic disney movie on youtube Hanna Montana is getting dissed, if my parents didnt show me disney movies i wouldnt know them - dont blame disney, blame the parents who dont show their kids them.
My 10 year old sister loves hanna montana and such but i still made sure she got to see the classics, because they are CLASSICS!
Jerry (played by Jack Black) - "It is such a good movie too. I cry....everytime, you know when the father dies". Deli Guy (who overheard conversation, comments unexpectedly) - "Oh man, I love the Lion King too, that's my favorite picture man". I didn't know adults felt this way for real.
That was still as emotional as i remember it :( I used to watch this film over and over again and I'd cry everytime. And from the looks of it so did everyone else. Although, who could blame us :P
exactly at this moment "2:20" I GIVE MY LIFE asuring some japanese people were in charge of the animation.. simply the BEST Disney Movie... with the years Disney never made another good film... if you want flms like this one shall check for studio ghibli totoro-princess mononoke-kiki DS-hauru mov castle-chihiro etc
