Jenkins is Rico's best mate. The bug that attempted to control Jenkins was previously in T'phai. Jenkins finally got pushed over the edge by the headcrab thing. T'phai was out to kill the bug for revenge just when the squad was about to capture it. In the ensuring chaos Jenkins exploded the bug with his mind and collapsed. Rico blames T'phai for. Though with Jenkins already being in a weakened state, it was bound to happen anyway.

The suits have temp control so just set it to cold or something, I think the light armor is just for looks in the show, I would think they would have the power armor but the lighter helmet. But hen light armor might make it easier to move in the jungle.

As for the landing pad... No one will ever understand the complexity of such decisions.

the only thing that I never liked about the series was the lack of lethality of their weapons...Basicaly they had to empty the whole magazine to kill a bug. Even the M-16 rifle which has a low killing power when compare to an AK-47 per-se. could kill and elephant with one shot or at least cause it enough mortal pain for it to back down. The spider wasn't even affected even after liz empty her mag. on it.
