We have a part Pyr/part blue heeler dog, and he's a wonderful dog. Haven't tested his patience with goats, but he puts up with children and kittens just fine. :)
@saide911 as you can see there is water in the pen, if he was thirsty he would get a drink. Pyrs are very, very smart and independent dogs that are fully able to take care of themselves. Many times with my Pyr has been panting like that and I offer him water to cool down he will refuse it.
So nice to read your comments snow'. Good to see SOMEONE is educating the globe on NOT taking cuteness as pets in imperfect surroundings. Sorry, haven't read the comments on this lovely vid, but did on the others. Thanks for taking the time to educate people, I try, I do. The reason I don't have "pets", is because I work too much, for good reason, but not a stellar situation for precious creatures to live around. The darlings deserve so much better. Bless you.
Good boy Buran! My little (ok not so little, lol) pyr pup is 12 weeks old and is already showing those guarding instincts with me. when he is playing with our lab mix pup he will chase her off and then come back to stand in front of me.
GP's are such wonderful dogs. It realy shows their temperment with the baby goats jumping on him. He wouldn't care if that was a 2 or 3 year old human baby jumping on him either. wouldn't mind it at all huh?
I absolutely love this video. I have seen it so many times, and every single time it brings a smile to my face! I cannot wait until we have our land so that we are able to have our goat family! They are my favorite animal.
Thanks for this video. In return - welcome to visit my channel where only the most decent and lovable of YouTube videos, including this one of yours, are being collected.
We have goats and a great pyrenees! G.P. are AWESOME dogs and SO loving!! They were used to protect sheep cause they'd look like big sheep :3 A great and loving dog to care and protect anything ^^ <3333 Your goats are cute :D
Oh my god! This is soooo adorable! I love GPs. They are so gentle with everything, unless of course you're threatening to their "families." My fiance and i are getting one soon; I can't wait! They're baby polar bears :)
one of my goats had triplets last year and one died when she was 10 days old, the other two seemed upset at first, but then they got back to playing like they usually did
That's just adorable. Our pyrs are only a year old and still like to rough and tumble with each other. They did let the baby rams get into butting games with them sometimes. It's a good things the rams gave that up before they got toobig for that game!
Those kids are too cute for school! What a lovely guardian your Buren is, too. Love your videos & can see your critters are well tended and loved. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I wanna come back as one of your goats! ;)
Love these baby goats!!! How BEAUTIFUL!! Love the solid white dog too, what a wonderful watch dog!! And so beautiful too!!! Thanks for sharing this lovely video with me.
"Buran" is a Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog. They are born/bred Livestock Guardian Dogs, but not all are as patient with baby antics as this one. He's a special guy. :)
he has the patience a mother would have for her little ones, how cute is that, to have these bundle of joy all over u.what little dumplins they are.hugs and kisses.love then to bits.
I'm hoping my pyr will be that way when he "grows up". He's a little over 10 months at the moment, but I don't think Samson would let my cats crawl on him the way those little goats crawl on Buran. He'd much rather play back. lol
Oh, and totally random question: Have you had many problems with "hot spots" on your pyr?
Actually ... no. Buran has a good "working Pyr" double coat that sheds out twice a year without hardly any help. Besides, living in Alaska probably helps, too. :)
OTOH, I do worry about this more with our younger (5-year-old) Pyr. She has more of a fluffy <sigh> "AKC show coat" which matts at the drop of a hat and needs near-constant attention. If not kept after actively, I believe she might develop problems.
Love your videos!!
