Very simply design buildings with landings at every 49' with staggered 36' fire escape ladders. It's cost effective and would save lives. Just not very sexy for the architect and a few people would complain that their view is obstructed.
I would suggest high speed elevators running up the outside of each face of the building with a down capacity of say 50 people or even more. It is not rocket science these days, just look at those hair raising rides in the theme parks.

if you look in the description you can see how much time and effort has been spent in this video, despite how it looks at the beginning, you have my respect man.

I don't find it very funny. I don't think you're going to find it funny too if you're the person who'd rejected Jesus as your Lord and Savior, when you're there on your last breath and there not without a doubt that you yourself, willingly and knowingly rejected God, it not funny. Well, this seems to easily be counterweighted by having an easily movable chunk of lead on the outside (away from the tower). Only problem would be the structure of the path to the copter as it honestly doesn't look stable as well as stability during flight. Note that we cannot see wind. Fires can also gobble up air causing difficulties in flying the copter and storage of the copter may prove difficult.
obly way it could work is if there was a counter weight to the weivht of the boom on the helo... nice idea though... im sure plenty of us have thought of what if scenarios to help

There would have been too many desperate people, all wanting to get on the first one there and the would pile in chaotically and may possibly tip it and it would just be even worse then what happened. Of course if there were plenty of the planes lined up, the authoritative people near the crane could talk the reality into their minds that they will all be able to get out safely, so this could have gone either way
it would work with an advanced system of counterweight on the other side. Weights that could be moved by computers from the center of the aircraft out more away from the building depending on the distance and weight on the arm thing.
Problems to much wait on one side another problem is your risking peoples live to save other people which is brave and what if a piece of the building falled on the extention part of the helicopter and theres to much smoke to where there helicopters cant land

I think there are more viable escape systems than this aircraft.
The people above the impact points were trapped because all the emergency stair wells were damaged. This should never have happened.
Why was there no helicopter access to the roofs?

Well, this seems to easily be counterweighted by having an easily movable chunk of lead on the outside (away from the tower). Only problem would be the structure of the path to the copter as it honestly doesn't look stable as well as stability during flight. Note that we cannot see wind. Fires can also gobble up air causing difficulties in flying the copter and storage of the copter may prove difficult.

There would have been too many desperate people, all wanting to get on the first one there and the would pile in chaotically and may possibly tip it and it would just be even worse then what happened. Of course if there were plenty of the planes lined up, the authoritative people near the crane could talk the reality into their minds that they will all be able to get out safely, so this could have gone either way

it would work with an advanced system of counterweight on the other side. Weights that could be moved by computers from the center of the aircraft out more away from the building depending on the distance and weight on the arm thing.
